Simley Lake, IGH

Recommended Posts

Is this lake open for ice fishing? I've only been there during the summer to fish off the dock.

May look good on paper but i'll let you explore and decide. Can of worms or corn and you may have a ball with the roughies in the pond. But if you want my opinion you may be wasting your time. I sure did, for hours on end trying to figure out the pond.

I dont think it ever fully freezes as it as either aerators or some sort of sprinkler system. But I never thought of icing it. If you do ever try to ice fish it use extreme caution.

I was thinking the same, but wanted to see what others had to say about it as well. Supposingly the lake has a veriety of fishes...from bass to walleyes, sunnies, crappies.

I had someone drive by there the other day, and it was all fenced up. I guess that's probably to keep people off for the winter. Will definitely go there for spring and summer fishing.

I usually drive by Simley Pond at least a few times every week. I've seen people ice fishing there three times this year. Every time was before Christmas. Haven't noticed any tracks or holes since then. According to the DNR and Dakota County's website, Simley Pond isn't aerated.
