I was out on Florence this morning. Holy c-r-a-p was it cold!

Set up in about 8 fow and was picking off little sunnies anywhere from 6"-3' off the bottom. No size to them, but it was entertaining until the gas for my heater ran out.

I was surprised that the ice isn't a little thicker given how cold it has been lately. 15" good ice and 2" white.

So what's happening over on Skogman/Fannie? Haven't heard much from the Skogman guys, I'm going to have to go crash the party soon and see what the secret is! wink

Anyone been out on the trio since the snow last week? Wondering what driving is like. Thanks!

Was out last sunday all day on Fannie. Caught a few of everything really. Deep snow in spots but still a good 24 inches where I was at.

How is Florence lake during the summer? A relative of mine is looking at a place for sale there. I see that it is pretty shallow except for one deep area. How are the weeds during the summer? Is it pretty choked out for most of the summer? Thanks!!

In my experience, the weeds aren't that bad in the main lake area. There are thick pads in between the island and boat launch but there's also a narrow channel through them that you can go through to the north and the south is pretty open. That's probably really the only troubling area, but if you go south from the launch and go around the island, you should be in the clear. There are also pads and other weeds that mat up in the bay in the southwest corner.

It's on the shallow side and small - definitely not a lake for taking the cruiser out on, but good for most fishing rigs.

Fishing isn't off the wall, but Skogman isn't that far away either.

It was pretty good before the winterkill...

It will take a couple years to recover.

Fish fannie this past friday. Durring the day was slow but managed to pull out a bunch of sunnies. Befor dark set up in 29 fow and pull out 10 crappies and a hog 26 inch walleye. Was about 3 inches of junk ice near the island and that space sub layer dump with 5 of good below that. Seen a couple of sleds out and I managed convinced one guy to not take his wheeler out. Though the main lake had a solid 6 to 7 inches all over.
