My strikemaster auger

bullheaded

Question

Hi. I have a 2004 s/m lazer mag 2 h.p. I had trouboe starting it. I brought it in to s/m in Big lake 3 times in 2010, a tuneup and some other adjustments. I brought it in again Dec l4th 2010 they tuned it up again and also put a new plug in it. It would still not start they did not charge me for the work they did on it. They did tell me they would have to tear if all down to find the problem. I took it home and I poured a small amount of gas in the cylinder. It starts on the first pull each time I do that, and will start again when it is warmed up. Any ideas? maybe a new carb. They did install a new carb kit rk 18 and a new plug and btw when it try starting it when it is cold the sparkplug is dry. Bullheadedd

I had trouble with mine just when it was really cold out. The clamps on the gas line weren't tight enough or the gas line got a little stiff and it would suck air. Put new clamps and gas line on and solved my problem. I could shoot gas direct into the carb and it would run and when it was warmer out it would run but not when it sat out in the cold really long. Cheap fix if it works.

As suggested, checking the fuel line for leaks would be a good start.

Other then that it could be the tech missed something on the rebuild. Quite few carb related issues come to mind there.

Let them know your continuing to still having problems, they will know what to double check.
