I know that Cannon Lake is stocked every year with walleye's. I know that it's a pretty decent summer time lake for eye's but I was wondering if anyone has ventured out there and pulled anything up?

Thats just for starters ! bunt nailed it there are plenty of fish in it, but plenty dead water also.

If you go be prepared to use bigger baits aor put up with pesky perch.

The larger perch 10-12"rs are not shy to bite a small shiner or fathead.

I like to use CRAPHEADS ,(as my nephew calls em).

a.k.a ...known as the last crappie minnows left in your bucket because there bigger than a crappie minnow but not really a fat head ! I have always armed my self with a canepole of at least 15' long. with a big treble hook on the bottom for feeling bottom and the hook would bring up vegetation if any was present. find the edge of a bar by use of a lake map. use the can pole to find the silt edge

and set up camp.

low light conditions where always better than mid day. If you decide to head out mid day set up a ways off the bars in the mud and move toward a firmer bottom as the evening progresses . just my two cents good luck

I really don't mind perch and IMO they taste better than eyes but not nearly as fun to catch. I have never fished cannon but I do know that people go to it to fish for northern during summer. Some people spear on it during winter.

luckycrank thanks for all the info. When I try it I will let all you know how it went.
