Spots for Tots

At the last Upper Red Lake Association meeting I was at the local school asked for a $500 grant to get kids some winter apparel that they could loan to kids that didn't have these items to go outside and play on the playground. The association gave them the grant and at this last meeting I was amazed at the amount of items they got for that grant.

We have been plowing in spots for a twelve pack of beer for guys for a couple of years now and it's been fun. But quite honestly I have 22 houses and i am invited to have a beer at all of them and if I did I wouldn't get anything done. So we are going to change the program, if you want a spot plowed in give us $20 and we will donate it to the school for there program. I know we all appreciate being outdoors and if their program encourages that we are all for it.

So from now on it's Spots for Tots.

I got a call from Don today from Dons Upper Red Ice Fishing and he said he wanted to get on board with the spots for tots program. Don is a new association member also.

Hey Patsy or Jonny can this be done through the association as we do not want to be in the way if others want to do this also. It would probally benefit the school more if we step aside and just donate to a fund and others also.

Yes we can look into running it through the Upper Red Lake Area Association although we will need to check all the non-profit laws and protocol to make sure it is set up correctly. The state likes to stack paper when it comes to donated money and non profits.

Spots for Tots took a hit today as Bill was plowing in a couple of spots and burned up the clutch in the slush. I called Jerry and he bailed me out. I had just about lost my smile when Jerry came by and I asked him to plow me a spot for a house I was trying to put down for a group by our 6 man and Jerry said that will be $20 for a spot for tot. I had to laugh. We got the plow off and on the other truck, you have to have back up everything. Did it mess with our plans oh hey.
