good bait store south of washkish

what is a good bait stop near upper red ,when coming from southern mn..like shiners and rainbows,always get fatheads too.thanks for any new ideas, for 5 years we have always stopped in grand rapids,but when -20 deg would be nice to get close to washkish when buying 20 to 30 bucks in bait

Ben's Bait in Grand Rapids is my bait stop, even with going to LOTW or Rainy River. 5 gallon bucket, and small areator pump. No problem......

There is Dr Tackle in Kelliher, but why dont you call Hillmans or Beacon Harbor or Westwind if your going out of the east side, or Rogers if going out of the south shore and see what they have on hand. Cant get any fresher than a block from the lake

Timberline Sports in Blackduck is hard to beat. They have everything you need from lures, outerwear, augers, portables, and any kind of minnows you need. They are real reasonable too for being so far north. And they are real close to the lake, 20 minutes or so. Another plus is if you got a break down with an auger they usually have all the parts you need.
