Minnetonka - Maxwell Bay

What's with the lack of activity out there? I went out there yesterday evening to chase some crappies, and expected there to be others out there and a community of fish houses...I was the only one out there all night, and it appeared that there had been very little traffic overall. Not that I mind...just found it to be kind of strange. Fishing was tough (I usually do ok out there), but still expected to see others. Anyone else fished out there this year and had any luck?

drove by there a few days ago and saw much of the same, barely any activity. I have never ice fished the bay before, but I might give it a try soon. I would guess pannies would be pretty thick in there.

We tried Maxwell last year thinking the same thing --- it used to be good, not much pressure there now, so we should be able to get some fish. We punched lots of holes, didn't mark much, caught even less. It was disappointing. I've been wanting to give it another try but haven't been there yet this year.

I had the same experience when I tried there yrs ago. Skunked and didn't mark much. There's gotta be crappies and everything else in there though.
