5th wheel hitch

opsirc

Question

am taking the hitch out of my dakota and am going to put it in my 98 ram. I know the weight needs to be over the wheels, but need the measurement from the back of the bed to the first rail. anyone know what it is?

thanks

Check with the manufacturer web site, you can probably download the installation manual with no problem.

Usually the hitch center has to be 2 or 3 inches forward of the rear axle.

Which brand do you have ? Also is it long or short bed ?

Heres's Valley installation instruction sheet
