tazer light

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if the tazer light for the glow lures really works to produce fish?If so how often do they need to be lit up?

How long the glow lasts varies from jig to jig and depends on many things. Color, type of paint used by manufacturer, manufacturer themselves, etc. Pink and red to me last the longest

I believe in them, I've had crappies react well to them, and I don't think it hurts with walleyes either.

A light costs $6, can be put on your key chain and only takes 10 seconds to be effective. Might as well eliminate that factor.

I use the tazer light but when fishing in the perm I usually use a camera flash instead. You can buy just the flash for about 25 bucks and it runs off of AA batteries. With the flash being so intense the lure seems to glow longer. IMO - fishing with a glow lure and making it glow does work. That said I do use a lot of gold jigs on LOW - because they work.

As far as LOW the only fish that seem to be triggered from tazing a glow jig is eelpout at night.

I bought a LED Super light from Home Depot. They cost about $30. but they are much brighter than anything else I seen. They have a chip in them to amplify the voltage and use three AAA batteries. The beam is so strong you can shine it a 1/4 mile away and see the imige clearly on trees or buildings you shine it on. It has a switch that will pulse the light for special purposes.. Check them out at H/D and you can demo the light brighness before you buy one...
