Have been out there lately and it is a reallll slowwww bite. I have found that if you get away from the crowd by the point in the deep is the best advice... I have caught some dandys in there this year all by myself of the northwest end

Will anyone please tell me where the access is on Green. I am thinking about heading up there on Sat but I have never been there. Thanks for any help.

From Anoka north on 47. Then go west on 95. A mile or two past Backwoods Sports Bait shop take a left on Xenon St. Stay on Xenon and it will be on your right side. Can't miss it.

Well, the brother-in-law and I went out to Green yesterday. We did not catch much, just some perch and crappies. What is the secret to this lake? We were in 25 ft on the north side of the lake.

the secret is to get out early in the mornings or go in the evenings on weekdays......always tougher on the weekends out there cause of all the comotion.....at least this is my opinion...try to get away or on the outside of the crowds also helps

I am going to Green on Thursday or Friday. First time out there this winter. I never have much problems finding the crapps, I just avoid the community on the point. Try to fish the humps at the South, if they aren't swelling with crowds. When they are... I just go out from everyone in the middle of the basin, and drill a few and check. Move. drill a few more, and check. Usualy I get over fish within 3 locations. Those always tend to bite fair or good, maybe less pressure there. Nice size crapps usualy come out of the school on your vex. just work above the clump of marks by 3-4ft. Most times I get a hog crappie to rise up and hit hard. To late for me to try the eyes on the south side. Maybe next early ice season. Just avoid the people...more so on Green than anywhere else.

I've never been out on Green before and am thinking about it. Are there any areas to avoid driving? Springs, shallow rock piles, etc? Thanks a lot!

Wondering how the fishing has been? I usually don't fish walleyes, but am going to try today. What areas of the lake have the hard bottom, sand, rock? Don't want to you to give out your special spots, but give me general areas so I don't waste time in areas that don't hold fish. You can post/email me if you like, see signature.

I was on green the weekend before memorial day...no fish that day. We marked plenty of fish in 27 feet, off the mid-lake hump and off the point near the public access. They were all over the depth finder but could not convince 'em to bite on jigs and fatheads. Then, tried crappie minnows under a slip bobber, still nothing. I was getting tired of not catching so I tied on a spoon to try and get some hammerhandles and that didn't even work.

So bucketmouth did you make it out, and how'd ya do?

As a side note, I was on Spectacle memorial day and hammered the bass. My sister and I had one after another of the 12-15" bass on crankbaits in 3-6'. Sure was fun!

We caught about 4 northern, 2 bass, 1 walleye(21"). We were all over the lake picking up fish. Seemed like the fish were in the 6-10' range outside/along weedlines. Fishing was slow.
