Josh McDaniels coming to MN??

Just read that Josh McDaniels is supposed to meet with the Vikings organization. Haven't we had enough controversy in MN's professional sports.....especially the Vikes? crazy

The saga continues....

Looks like they are looking at him for Offensive coordinator though... Frazier will stay head coach.

That would mean that Bevell isn't coming back. Could it be that DB is in the running for one of the head coaching jobs that opened up this year? I haven't heard anything on him.

josh mcdaniels is great at coaching quarterbacks.... he has proved with his time in denver that a head coach job is a little too much on his plate for where he is in his career right now. given the quarterback situation with the vikings, i would absolutely LOVE for him to come to MN and work with our offense and specifically, our QBs (whoever they might be next year)

Mcdaniels is a proven qb guru and a brilliant offensive mind. Getting him would be a coup for the vikes

I can see the new meaning of being "all-in" is bringing Young and McNabb in to compete for the starting position and drop Webb down to 3rd QB.

I hate to be pessimistic but trends over the last decade plus are going to instill a label of MN being the dumping ground of everything that's wrong with the NFL.

I guess I dont have a major problem with it as long as he leaves his video camera at home.

I agree...it would also set up Kyle Orton very nicely as our veteran q-back that we'll need going forward. I would be o.k. with Orton throwing to our weapons.

Vikes better get the q-back situation figured out sooner rather than later. There's alot of offensive FA's that will be looking elsewhere if we can't show them at least some hope at the qb position.

you must be referring to the broncos former team video director steve scarnecchia, not mcdaniels.

Pats and Broncos both got busted for filming an opposing team and the common denominator was McDaniels. I'm just sayin. I bet he could have got some great shots of the dome collapsing.

I would be thrilled to have McDaniels here. They would then likely make Bevell the QBs coach. McDaniel's, before Denver, OC'd for the Patriots for two years (one of which was 2007 when they broke the 98 Vikes scoring record). I say, bring him on.

Demoting Bevell to qb coach at a coordinators salary? I doubt that would happen. He would be better off finding other employment whether that be in nfl or college. He is young and has a bright future, so he shouldn't have a problem finding a job. If McDaniels comes here I wonder if he would want the title Assistant head coach added to being OC. That would possibly make him in line to take over if Frazier gets canned down the road.

No way Bevell takes a demotion. PA made a good point today on his radio show- someone like Billick has teams shying away from him as a head coach, but if he were to come here as a coordinator, and does well- the doors to being a head coach re-open.

Martz, Cunningham, Tice and others are doing well as previous head coaches in other jobs

I hope he does come, however, from what I've heard on the radio it doesn't sound too good. We have no qb for him to work with. I don't want Bevell and the west coast kick a$$ offense. Haven't heard of any others being interviewed.

There are no notable quarterbacks available. Tebow is not notable and neither is Orton. Although Orton would be a better choice, if only, because he has some experience.

Rumor has it if the Browns hire the Rams Offensive Coord, McDaniels will take the Rams open position so he can work with Bradford.
