How is the ice? Driving trucks out yet? Any tips for fishing would help also. Never fished it but going to try it tomorrow after work.

Thanks

I was there last thursday and the ice was about 12 inches thick...but about a 1/3 of it was white frozen slush. And there was alot of slush and water ontop of the ice. Of course it was warm and raining on that day, so since then with all these single digit cold temps, I'd say the ice is doing pretty good.

You'll probably catch alot of small pike if you put out a tip up. I caught alot of small crappies out there, small forage minnows tipped with minnow heads were the ticket...they wouldn't touch euros or waxies.

I have seen a few trucks driving out from the north access and fishing close by. I measured about 12" the other day where I was fishing. I think I will stay with the wheeler for another week or so. Travel is excellent with little to no snow on the lake.

Was out last night. 14 inches of ice. top 3 inches white and the rest was NOT the good clear ice. There was one A hole racing around in a truck. I might have called for help if he went down. Some people just don't get it. Fishing was slow.
