Driving Conditions on Sarah

How is the ice on sarah? I've never fished the lake before, so if I make it out there (weather pending), I'll probably be driving a car. Just wondering if slush or snow is a problem?

I was out there last night till 10pm... no slush or snow on the lake, mostly ice. People were driving cars and trucks. I didn't want to take the chance with my suburban... there was about 9 inches of clear ice and another 5-6 inches of white ice.

Well, it's still up in the air if I go anywhere this weekend. How has the fishing been out there?

It's pretty slow during the day light hours. They only seem to bite during the night. Decent size crappies.

Thanks for the tip wink Single digits tomorrow, so definitely not making it out...and next week is the trout opener, so it'll probably be a long time before I make it out there.

Anyone have an update on the driving conditions on Sarah? Heading out there tomorrow. Wondering about a potential plowed road and how thick the ice is. I assume it is drivable but thought I'd check.

Definitely drivable. If you do get off the plowed roads you had better have 4WD. The snow is not deep and I have even seen 2WD cars out there but I wouldn't want to get stuck. There are some deeper drifts that could grab you.
