Lakes near Coon Rapids

Recommended Posts

Depends on what you wanna consider a good lake in Coon Rapids. There are lots of little lakes around the area that can produce fish. I also live in Coon Rapids and almost never fish the lakes close to it. I picked up a few of the Sportsman's Connection fishing map guides, good maps to see what have been stocked in local lakes and an idea to the size of fish and what type can be found in the lake. Although the lakes I have fished in the area have smaller fish still can make for a fun day.

[PoorWordUsage] is good in the winter for trout and blue gill and crappie. if you want to take a little drive lake george is okay or even a little bit further you can fish Coon lake,Linwood lake,Martin lake, and Typo they are all off of viking blvd and good crappie lakes at least 3-5 yrs ago when i fished them.

I have fished Crooked in summer and winter the crappies are small mostly in the 5-7 range and I don't think there are fish left in round for how shallow it is now. Last time I was on round was many years ago before it started to dry up.

Round Lake has a lot of sunnies in it. Nothing with real size, but it all you want is to go out and catch some fish then Round would be a good one.
