Tonight on the lake

Tonight on the ice the wind is a blowing, we circled the wagons and have everyone in camp buttoned up. We moveart he shacks in a group and have been in phone contact with everyone. We will let the road blow over and start plowing in the morning. It looks like we will have a small window in the afternoon to resupply and then we will button it up again as tomorrow should be more insane.

We had a generator go down for the six mans but those units have backup heating systems and three alternative lighting systems. The guys got the generator back up as we established a warm room for working on equipment over the next couple days.

We will start sleeping in shifts over the next couple days. We have plenty of beer and chow and it is beautiful out there tonight for those not working in it.

Sometimes I wonder if some of the things we do are really necessary, like last night I had Dallas stay up all night and make sure the trucks stayed running and to pull forward and backwards so we could get a good run with the plow. I got up at 4:00AM and just made a couple passes on are off road and I got a call from one of our guests. They had to call 911, they had a medical emergency and we had to get a guy off the lake. I called Jerry from Rogers and he started to get the roads to the resort opened up. I skipped across the blown dunes with bill behind me and beached the truck at the landing. We were met by Don from Don & johns and he helped get the guy to the ambulance. Then the other outfitters showed up and helped Jerry get things opened up. The team work at this resort is outstanding.

The rest of the day was spent trying to get prepared for tonight. Tomorrow and Sunday we will dig out and get ready to move.
