Up North Sleepers

Has anyone stayed with Up North Sleepers before? We are heading up in 2 weeks and staying with them, and I was looking for a little information.

I also will be staying with them, but Jan 21-23. I tried asking this question a few weeks ago Butch, so I will be interested to hear if anyone on here has a report.

Our group has stayed with Up North Sleepers for about 8 years and have been well satisfied. Tom your guide will take good care of you and stops in 2 or 3 times a day to see how you are doing and to see if you need anything. The houses are nice, The top bunks are a little cramped as they built them to close to the ceiling but still doable. There is an oven with cook top stove which is nice, electric lights with plenty of batteries which Tom takes care of. Our fishing has usually been pretty good, the houses are set up off by themselves and have never had anyone fishing close to us. I will be up there the 11th thru the 14th so we will see what happens this year as it sounds like the fishing has been kind of slow.

I'm sure you will have a good time there and I will post an update when I get back for you.

Thanks for the info i'majigger, I'm pretty excited about the trip. I spoke with Tom's partner Steve and he seemed like a pretty good guy. We're heading up on the 13th-16th so we overlap a day. Good luck on your trip, and I'll post our result when we can get back.

Three of us were up there the 11th thru the 14th, fishing was good on Tues. Sucked on Wed. Thurs was great, we caught several slot fish, lots of little ones to throw back, and kept a respectable pail full to keep and clean. The guy we rent from was shocked when he asked me on Thurs evening how many fish we had caught and I told him as he had talked to many of the other resort guides and the best we heard was 7 fish caught in one house and I'm sure we caught probably 40 or so, Now I'm not saying that is great but when the bite is tough all over I consider that pretty good, I have defintly seen it way better than that.

Thanks imajigger, I heard the same from last weekend as well, looks like Tom has the fish dialed in pretty good. Fishinglady, if you do some research, you can find the info.

We will be up there Friday at 10am, looking forward to it!

On Tuesday the fishing was better from about 2PM until dark, On Thursday there were fish just about steady all day long on the Vex and the biggest share of them would bite. I'm sure you will have a good time as they go out of their way to make sure you do. GOOD LUCK
