Another LakeMaster Chip Question. Can't see maps.

FishingRebel

Question

Well,I recently purchased a Garmin Lakemaster chip for my Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS. I have disabled the city maps as well as switching the mapping on that unit to North Side up or Tracking instead of 3d and I still cant see any maps from my Lakemaster chip.

Shouldn't I be able to see maps from that Lakemaster chip? I have tried everything I can think off and I still can not see anything. It is as if nothing loaded into my GPS. Any ideas?

FR,

Have you made sure your firmware in your Nuvi is up to date, I'm not familiar with the 350 but that would be the first thing I would try, just sign up for a free account at mygarmin and it will make sure your Nuvi is good to go.

I believe there are different 'modes' on that Nuvi, you should be able to pick Marine Mode.

If you still continue to have troubles I would call Lakemaster and they can probably help you much more than I can, the Lakemaster site says your Nuvi 350 will work.

My 250 doesn't have a marine mode, I just set it to off road and turn off the built in map and activate the Lakemaster and it works well, so it sounds to me like you've done everything right, something else is amiss.

Good luck!

Mike
