Anyone know what a non res spearing license cost in either states or is it just a fishing license? Also where can I find the specific spearing regs? Thanks.

Here is a google map showing all the open lakes as of last year.

Not sure if they opened more this year or not.

They have been opening more and more each year.

Google Map - Darkhouse Spearing in North Dakota

In SD and Montana you can darkhouse spear most game fish. Wisconsin you can darkhouse spear northern pike on lake superior and sturgeon on winnebago. Michigan you can darkhouse spear northern pike, muskies, and perch. Alaska you can darkhouse spear northern pike with no limits (they are invasive species up there) Check the regs to make sure of each states current rules and regulations.

Not many lakes to spear in SD. I think it is only lakes that are open to liberalized fishing. I think rush near waubay is one. I think there is an outfit on lake oahe sp?(missouri river) that you can spear walleye. It is in their reg book if you can find it, seems to me its kinda burried in there.

An outfitter from Oahe had a website a couple years ago with the walleye their clients had speared that winter.
