Coming up next week

I will be coming up next Wednesday through Friday and wondering what anyone thinks the bite will be like. I know it's going to be cold, but hopefully the wind won't be howling too bad. It's my black birthday next week (40th) and I told my wife I wanted to go fishing. She said have fun and dress warm. Am planning part of a day down in the Clementson / Birchdale area for some sturgeon, but the rest of the time will be fishing for walleye or sauger.<P>Thanks,<BR>Dean Thorn

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. Bob (Eyewitness), are you fishing the MTT again next year? Not sure what I'm doing, may fish some of those again as it was a fun tourney circuit, but may look into some of the GNWC events of Bernie's. <P>As of today, I'm heading up to LOW by myself. Have one invite outstanding that haven't heard back from yet. I think he is out of town until Sunday. Fishing by myself is ok with me also, just makes loading and unloading a bit tougher. Hope the docks are still in at the landings, then it's not much of a problem. Just want to get away and feel a tug on the line. It's been a few weeks since I've been fishing and am suffering withdrawls.<P>Dean Thorn

Opie, the cold weather surely won't make the fishing get any slower this year, and may help get the bigger fish going a bit better than they had been earlier. I have'nt been out since a week ago Saturday so I can't offer any encouraging reports as of late. I can tell you that in years past the week of deer season has been very good to me for BIG fish.<P>Keep an eye on Sandee's reports on the clementsonresort.com website, she tells it like it is, and has recent updates. She'll probably update again tonite or tomorrow. <P>Good luck, bring warm clothes cause that weather report is looking pretty cold.<P>fiskyknut

Thanks for the response Fisky. With the forecast looking so cold, I've decided to postpone the trip until next week. Will most likely come up Tuesday, 11/11, and stay for 3 days or so. Hopefully, it won't be as cold. The extended forecast is to be back into the mid to upper 30's instead of the 20's. Maybe some of the piggies will be around and want their pictures taken!!<P>Does anyone know when the docks are pulled from the landings?? <P>Dean Thorn
