Whats up with the Frozen Shiners?

Hey Curt used about 10 dozen of those frozen shiners last sat. sure did the trick in 24 ft of water out of zippel bay wish I could go again this weekend caught over a hundred and lost a biggun at the boat!! looking forward to hardwater for sure.

I use frozen shiners alot when up at LOTW. Not to hijack the thread, but our local stores that sell frozen shiners don't sell the emeralds. has anyone used a different species of frozen shiners at LOTW? how about those preserved shiners that you can buy in a bag?

I would say why chance it, get the local bait. Ive never had that good of luck bringing in out of town bait.

Dont buy those preserved Shiners in the big bag. They look perfect but the smell and oil is gone and they do not work...(but they sure look good)

Last weekend as soon as the fish would really start to bite good the wind would switch 180 and the bite would stop for a couple of hours. Happened

both Saturday and Sunday. With the complaining out of the way, we did land a 28 inch Walleye and 48 inch Sturgeon. It was a rare day without the big numbers. Trying again this weekend.
