Best time for winter reef bite?

Hey guys - a few of us are trying to plan a long weekend trip to do the sled run up to the reefs. Wondering when might be the better option to make our plans - late Jan or early Feb?

We plan to stay at one of the resorts & sled out each day.

Thanks for your help -

Boy, the best reef bite is late march an early april, but if i had to choose between the time you listed I shoot for Jan as ealy as you can get out. I havent had good luck in Feb, but thats me an If i get out in feb, on the reefs, I'd probably start on top a reef in the early morning an work my way down till I hit deep water for some sauger in the afternoon an work my way back up the reef for the evening bite. Good luck. Boar
