What days to hunt?

Hello everyone, I can only get a couple days off of work this year for deer hunting, and I'm wondering which ones I should choose. It's either going to be the 8th and 9th (Mon and Tues) or the 11th and 12th (Thurs and Fri). Either way, hunting should be good on all of these days, but I'd like to hear your opinions.

Personally I would take the 11th and 12th but it you could also get the 10th off that would be huge too. We have had our best hunting (big bucks) between the 7th and the 14th with the best days right in that 10-12th area. However things can vary a little from area to area and year to year so it could be good the 8th or 9th too.

If you believe in the rutting moon thing then I would go as close to that as possible and i think that is the 23rd this year. other than that they should be almost equally as good. I would go the 11-12 just because of the 3 days rest the deer get after being chased around the whole first weekend

I'd go with the opposite. I usually take the whole week off and see most deer movement Mon-Wed following opener. IMO, The does are still not to overwhelmed and by mon-tues their back in their old routine. Since MN season is open during the rut, follow the does. Usually by the start of he second weekend, the does have caught on and the bucks are ghosts...I hunt about a 6 or 7 on a rating of hunters on public land.

There are alot more factors but this is just my observation through out the years, I've also noticed that Sunday evening the hunter population drops by a 1/3 easy in our area.

Like pulleye I take the whole first week of rifle off also. I see usually more deer M-W than I do TH - Sat. There are alot of years I don't see any deer after Wed. In our area in the north woods I would chose earlier. It might be best to wait as close as you can and let the weather decide for you, if you are able to do that.

9th-13th or in your case the 11th and 12th! Supposedly this is when the daylight hours are perfect and the moon phase gets them going........personally i see more big bucks running around during the 10-2 o'clock range later on in the week after opener!

Hunt Monday and Tuesday. Look at the weather that's coming. A lot of big bucks will be killed this weekend. I'd go as soon as possible.
