Darn, I see we got bumped down a couple of spots to those dumb ice guys. cry I don't know why, there is still alot of open water fishing to do and there won't be any fishable ice for a long time yet.

But we know it's only temporary, hang in and we will be on top again before you know it.

Whoa there!!

Have my favorite trip of the year coming up this weekend, 4 days fishing Vermilion and the Rainy river and/or 4 Mile bay! Throw in some hours for pheasant and grouse and its the perfect cast and blast MEA weekend for me and my 8 year old son!!!

With water temps still in the low 50's, ice is aways off.

I totally agree as the fall fishing can and may be the best of the open water season.

My boat goes into storage a week before ice. Thats a ways away yet.

I'm still going strong fishing the liquid water, but on Sunday night I pulled out the Otter and started the auger. So, at least for me, it's time to start looking forward to the hard water.

Bah, ice fishing is just not the same. My boat's got one big weekend left and 3-4 more lakes to fish. Then it will make the return south into the garage stall. Can't say I remember the switch happening so soon though smile

Yes, there's a lot of great open water fishing left and I'll be in my boat right up until the opening day of the firearms deer season. Ice fishing! You guys are SICK I tell you. (As much as I like hard water fishing.) LOL

My boat is done for the year. Between duck, bow, grouse, yardwork, kid taxi services to school activities...There is only so many hours in a day. I fished hard all summer, time for new adventures. First ice is not that far away.....

I just spent a few days fishing from the boat and scoring some nice Perch and Walleyes. Of course, I was anchored, I had rigged out my FL-18 to the stern, and I was vertical jigging a Buckshot rattle spoon with a minnow head. Kind of the best of both worlds.

Get used to the view from the back seat. You'll be looking up at us until about April.

31 days until ice up!
