Any opener reports?

We hit 2 places today, the 1st was a major bust...totally my bad for pickin the spot. 2nd Spot was very good looking, kicked up a hen, and a very nice rooter, which Mourneau132 got a shot off at, had the bird barrel roll and fly away. He did hit it though. I swear!

I have to add, the handler and the dog we had with us...WOW! That dog was awesome!...and the handler wasn't so bad himself

I am hitting a buddy's CRP plot tomorrow with my wife n kids, and then possibly a WMA or 2 if its not overly packed.

Just having a nice walk in Nature...nothing to shabby bout that! Home in time for the Vikes game!

Hunted from 9 til 2 today. Hit about a half dozen spots. Flushed up about 15 birds today. We only were able to get 2 because it was opener, and it just works that way! (poor shots) Tall CRP grass was the best for us today, because thicker grass wasn't holding birds. Thin and tall CRP grass next to soybeans or a cornfield is where you should try and hunt. The birds were flying like crazy too.

Shopped at Sam's club with my bride this am and went out for 2 fields this aft. We did get 4 birds so it was a nice afternoon.

I put 3 birds in the pouch between yesterday and today. Saw many more than that. All of mine came from around water holes and clusters of trees. I only hit one area both days. It was just enough walking for me and the dogs were just plum tuckered out by the time we got home.

Also had a visit from a Federal Warden today on my way out of the field. He only checked shells and licenses.
