Heading up this weekend for our annual fall trip. Looks like the weather may actually cooperate and I might be able to fish the lake a bit this year. I've fished the gaps in the past but haven't really ventured out in the open water. Am I missing anything not fishing the lake? Are there any particular reefs etc that I should put on my must try list if do try the lake?

The lake has alot to offer. Just check from<BR>14 feet to 30 feet deep water until you find<BR>the schools of baitfish and toss your anchor<BR>and jig em up. It seems the fish are drawn <BR>in to the jig because it might be slow at<BR>first but after a few minutes the bites will<BR>begin. Its all close in fishin' no need to<BR>run to reefs unless you want to explore.<P>Lots of small fish but some whoppers come<BR>thru along with Sturgeon and Pout and Pike.<P>I love it<BR><P>------------------<BR>Curt Quesnell<BR>NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

      So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

      Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

      I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

      A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

      Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.
