It was great to speak to both of you on the water at LOW last weekend. We continued to get crappies in Miles and Hay after I spoke with PJM on Saturday. The walleye fishing was just okay in Miles on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday we went way West and killed them at three different spots. Nice average size and great numbers. Fished down to our lst minnows in Miles to end the day. How did you guys do? Any Muskies Rckwll? What weather for October, eh. See you next year.

Eastwind, We made it over to OB and got good crappies at the Elbow. Miles Bay was slow for eyes all week but we did get plenty to eat and some over 21" we released. The smallies were all over the 15' reefs in Miles and we got many over 16". The muskies were cold; the warm, calm days really threw off the typical fall pattern. There were several days I was in short sleeves and wishing I had packed shorts. Spent one day and trolled all around Dawson and thru Painted Rock Channel without a fish. Thinking about an ice fishing trip and will definitely be back next July 16-25 and again in the fall. Have a good winter and I'll see you next year.

Rckwll,
We will be at LOW the week of July 17th through the 24th next summer also. Maybe we will run across you. If you are thinking about ice fishing, here is what we have been doing. We go out of Nestor Falls in January. From what I've heard the Morson area requires a sled or 4X4 cycle to get around. The Nestor Falls area has reasonable lodging and easy access to some great crappie spots from your vehicle. The eyes are more active im February and March up there. We also had fun fishing for lakers last year. If you want more info, let me know.

Eastwind
It was nice to meet you in the Obabikon and the weather that day was great. Getting into the Obabikon was a little tricky for me but a couple of guys helped me pull it though. That was a nice walleye you caught. Where out west were you fishing that you did so well? A friend of mine that was fishing with me the day before caught a 48in muskie at Stairway Point and before that the biggest fish he had ever caught was 3 pounds. Did you ever take a look at the other site that I mention. Like I said it was nice to meet you and I might go up there in July the same time you are

There’s critters out and about. Get yourself some cellular trail cams and you’ll see.

It wouldn't be the first time I've heard the USS Skunked Again breaking ice! I left this morning, the rain really did a number to the ice. I'll bet the Partridge River will be open by the weekend.

My yard is pretty open, but narrow. I think I'll be fine with reception in the areas I'm thinking. I try to keep the hill somewhat natural, but my wife wants to see the lake better. The video's I've watched, they have topped the trees and mounted the dish. I would this the swaying would affect the signal. Does Starlink help you with using WiFi for calling? My T-Mobile service sux at the cabin. Did you bury your cable?

I'm on the wide part of the channel going in to Black Bay. We won't see Paul B. For years.

Welcome back. Wow it's been since 2018 it looks like. Did you ever "I'm tightening up my footprint and want to build on my Bozeman lot on the Gallatin"? 😏

You're probably right. This isn't official since I've already lost, but I'll make my supplemental guess for May 6th since it's still open. 😄 As long as I can snake my way along the shore and/or plow through some dark ice on the 8th, I'll be happy. I love aluminum boats!

For all of my "problems" with getting a clear signal it's worth it. I can spend more time at the lake because I can work during the day and play or get things done at night. Toss in that I can record and watch a football/hockey/basketball game when I'm done at the end of the day....priceless. Like your place, our property is more natural and I was worried about having to cut down a bunch of trees. I like that people have to get up close to see our place from the lake through the trees. Luckily I didn't have to do much to get enough a signal that works for me. If I needed to be on video calls, I probably would run the dish down to the shore to get a better view of the sky. BTW - the main problem with mounting the dish on a tree is that the tree still has a canopy that will block the signal. The best option would be to top a tree and then mount it on the clear-cut top.
