I can hardly wait! I have never fished this area in the fall and the Chitlins and I are starting to get PUMPED UP grin.gif.
I just read Sandy's fishing report off the Clementson web site and it looks like the big girls are starting to move in! Hopefully now with the weather cooling back down again, things will really start to rock by the end of the week.
YAHOO.....................
_____________________________________________
Do any of you local folks have a duck report you could share??? We hope to wack a few fowl too smile.gif

Dr Bob,
Fishing over the weekend in the river was
not real good. The reasons and theorys
are many. I like the 80 degrees most of
last week has slowed the migration down.
If you are staying at Borderview and the
river bite isnt good. Fish the lake! You
will catch fish with an anchored boat and
jig and a shiner minnow. There will be lots
of small fish, but more and more bigger to
huge fish will begin showing up each day.
Good Luck

------------------
Curt Quesnell
NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

Dr. Bob,
You're heading up on the 16th? I think I'll pull in the evening of the 17th and will be around until Mon. some time. Swing over to Ballard's one night and we can swap reports and [PoorWordUsage] a little bit.
Scoot

Hi Scoot,
We will be up until Sunday afternoon. I'll probably swing by on Friday after our Pheasant hunt. How will I find you?
Dr. Bob

Ask the bartender or front desk person where the Engel crew is- he/she'll know us and will point you in the right direction. I'm 6'1", 200 lbs., brown hair and eyes, kinda homely. I think I'll recognize you if I see you first.
You bringing Jake along?
Scoot

Good morning Scoot.
Ya, I am bringing Jake and his sister Kayla along too. I am really hoping she gets to tangle with a big one smile.gif. Jake got his 28 incher back from the taxidermist last night. He is ONE HAPPY CAMPER! And is starting to give me a hard time already - says he's going to out-fish me AGAIN this weekend!
I'll likely recognize you too. I am sure Jake will, he is as sharp as his old man used to be grin.gifrolleyes.gifgrin.gif..
Fisky may be along too! I am waiting to hear from him.
See ya this weekend.
Bob

When I was deer hunting last fall, the obvious explosion of wildlife then was evident then too. I saw over 50 deer, 20+ turkeys, and too many pheasants to count in a week. Nothing has changed. These mild fake winters have to be playing a big role in survival. And if we get another good reproductive cycle in June, I would expect another booming fall season.

Ya, 120.00 sux. I have Access Broadband, they just raised their rate from 50.00 to 75.00. I'm lucky to get 3 to 5 mbts up or down, sometimes I'll get better. In fairness to them, they have been great trying to respond to my needs, but just can't improve my service. They said that they doubt I'll ever be able to stream a Wild game. I just purchased a new streaming box and it buffers none stop. With the new streaming box and the referral discount, I'll be able to cancel Sling, so, I'll save about 10.00 on my monthly bill. That's what I told my wife 😀 it's true...

That's a better price than when I bought a few years ago. I pulled the giant box across the ice on an old Radio Flyer sled late winter. Good luck. You'll enjoy Starlink, except for paying the bill. Mine was originally $100/mo, then $110/mo, then they said I was in a low usage area so they dropped my bill to $90/mo for the last two years. I just got a letter a month or so ago saying that we are now in a "high usage" area so they raised it to $120/mo.

I did the app thing. The best place is the middle of my yard and that's not going to happen. I have a tripod stand and a "J" type stand. I've also looked at trimming some trees for a better view of the sky. Once I get it, I'll have to try different areas. Maybe I'll have to hire a guy to climb my tree and install it- I've seen YouTube videos on that. Middle of my roof looks to be somewhat clear, but I don't like to put holes in the shingles. Plus, it's a 12/12 pitch and I don't have Velcro shoes. If anyone is looking to buy Starlink, it's on sale till 4/30 at $159.00. If you do buy it, I can give to a referral code and we'll both get a free month.

With the current conditions and weather forecast I would still stick to Sunday, May 4th. I almost guarantee Vermilion will be ice-free by the opener on May 10th. Very likely someone on the list will have the correct date.

Black Bay began opening yesterday afternoon. I could see ice moving around in the middle.

I've got it too. It works great if you can get a clear view of the sky, works decent if there are blockages. I had to take down two trees and still have branches that reach out and interrupt. Some people have their dish mounted on shore which probably helps a lot. You can download the Starlink app and then walk around your property. It will assess any spot to see if you'll get enough coverage.

I've seen them at the Cub in Minnetonka and just a few weeks ago, the Cub in Chanhassen. The little smelt, smaller than sardines.
