I used to LOVE pulling in a big sunnie, or bass, etc on a cane pole when I was a kid. Growing up when we fished panfish thats all we used to use. Anybody else? Can you still find good cane poles in the area. I'd like to have my kids try it out.

Thanks ~piker

They have those new telascoping ones at Cabelas. They should work. I haven't seen those bamboo ones since I was a kid. Used to have a lot of fun using them, with dacron line and cork bobbers. grin.gif

I have a Japanese ultra light I pull out when the bite is right. You don't need weight to cast so you can get by with a vary light hook and bobber. It's a blast.

Mills Fleet Farm in Owatonna had them a couple months ago, both the telescoping and the bamboo. They were very cheaply priced. I would reccommend going there.

I bought a bamboo cane pole at fleet farm about 3 weeks ago but they were almost out of them. It only cost $3.50 for an 8 footer.
