Has anybody received information on the Jig A Bass tournament on the German\Jefferson chain. It is usually held in mid july and get an application every year in the mail. Just wondering if there is a tourny this year?

The German/Jefferson Chain tourney is not happening this year.

Thanks, it`s to bad that was alway`s a fun day on a great bass lake.

Flip, are you from the Austin area? Did you get 2nd on Stella last weekend?

Just trying to see if I know who you are.

I fished the Stella tourney as well. We caught many fish, but only managed 12 lbs. What do you think it'll take to win on Lura?

Posted

Washingotn/Stella must be a pretty decent fishery... All 30 of the Ultimate Bass teams had 5-fish limits, mostly clustered around 11-12 lbs. That says something about the numbers of fish in that lake.

Yeah, it seemed like every fish we caught was 2 to 2.5 lbs. My partner and I each lost a kicker, however. One from a dock and the other from the pads in Stella. It was one of those days!

Yes, I hail from Austin. One of two counties in the state without a lake. Yep, we finished second on wash\stella. Lura is going to be wierd to fish without the weeds were used to fishing in the spring. I and a friend were out there a week ago tuesday and I was stumped. Dad and I will hit it hard this weekend and try and figure them fat girls out. As far as a guess on weight, it will take 20 to 22 lbs. to win and 19lbs to get in the money. we`ve got two weeks to prefish and the guys will figure them out. Kato guy how could I identify you. See you this weekend. Flip

The reason the tournament is not being held is because the guy that usually puts it on for the lake association said he doesn't have enough time. I'm really bummed out that it's not going on this year. I was thinking that maybe for next year someone more reliable would put the tournament on. Perhaps Gabby would do it?

Posted

One has to question the reliability when the tournament director is late for both of the first two tournaments...

Golden, Gabby had an unexpected family issue at the Madison tourney. Jeff was there, however. Gabby runs the best tournaments around.

Thanks to Don G and Ron G for getting us started when Gabby and Jeff were late. Those out-of-towners and no wives around can be heck. (Coming from a non-married katoguy.)

Flip, I got lucky with a 5.05#! Definitely helped us up from the 2 points on Madison.

Sees ya.

FYI, I think DJ won on Wash last night followed by Don G.

I was out on Lura a little while ago-nine days ago, and had some pretty good luck on the largemouths on buzz baits over the submerged veg. accross the bay from the landing-Daly Park landing....jk

My son got paid back for a good deed he did several years ago. He found a couple of expensive items at a boat ramp and called me asking what he should do.   I told him to bring them home because I was afraid if someone else found them, they might keep them. It was winter and nobody was around. This was when Facebook wasn't really popular yet, I was on several sites like this. First thing we did was make a big sign and posted it at the boat launch, then I posted it on all the forums I was on. Long story short, we never found the owner, but we sure tried. I know to this day, if either one of us found something, we'd do our best to get it back to the rightful owner.

Yes, for sure.     A few years back, and unbeknownst to me, a piece of trim came off my sled while traveling over the lake.  A fellow sledder and complete stranger found the piece and followed my tracks all the way back to my cabin to return the lost item.  Couldn't thank him enough.  His kindness will never be forgotten and is something to which I aspire.

We got the auger back! The person who found it didn't want me to mention his name, we can't thank him enough! Still good, honest people around. He called Spring Bay Resort and asked if they heard of anyone losing an auger and they sent him a screenshot of my post. So, thanks to Dayis and Steve at Spring Bay Resort for that! Thanks again everyone for getting the auger back to us!

Who’s been out? I got hit with the flu and am still recovering.

That's what they're going to do. I always read these posts and wondered how people could lose or forget stuff, well it happens!

Dang….  I know it’s your son, so kinda different, but I’d be expecting a replacement from those who lost it.  The group could each put in and wouldn’t hit one or another too bad.   But that’s just an old man’s thoughts….💭    Good luck.

So my son and buddies were out this morning fishing between Wakemup and H.O.L. Bays (probably between Metza's pt and Schmidt Island), so they had to cross the snowmobile trail to The Landing. Well,  MY Strikemaster 24 volt auger fell off the back of my sled.  They didn't realize it until they got back. If anyone found it, would be nice to get back...please and thank you. Good news is they had the battery in their pocket..... Dip $hits😡
