I went out on cedar sat. I was all over that lake, couldn't find fish. did find very small crappies. thats it.I stayed past dark and still couldn't find fish. motored around lake and didn't mark very many fish at all.I used to be able to go out there and catch lots of fish.don't know what happened this year. last 4 times i been out there fishing has been real slow.

I'm hearing you.

While fishing on ceder last month the Old timers all said the same thing "the lake has never been this weedy". I myself, have resigned to the Eurasian Watermilfoil. Learn to fish the stuff. Because at the speed that it is spreading, sorry to say, all lakes in this area are going to have it soon.

Throw away your crank-bait. Throw away your your spoons. Get out your safty-pin spinner baits, because fishing becomes one dimensional.

After fishing ceder, I had to wash my boat!

We talking about the same cedar? i'm talking about the one down by faribault, not the one south of prior. i haven't fished that one yet this year.

I am most definitely talking about the Ceder Lake just West of Faribault.

I am surprised to hear this. I have had one of my better years this year on Cedar than in recent years. Mostly Bass and Walleyes. Whatever you do, DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR CRANKBAITS for use on this lake! I have been using them exclusively. Rapala DT 16s and DT 10s for both the bass and walleyes. Fish them from 10 to 15 feet deep on the hard bottom breaks and you should connect.

Thanks for the tip Clay.p
I did try using cranks but don't think i was deep enough most of the time. guess i'll have to give the lake one more shot before I switch to a different lake. sure hope it pans out.
