Does anybody know where i can find a fish marker that resembles a seagull? My Dad had one a while back and mysteriously disappeared. Guessing it flew away! Just curious if anybody has heard of such a thing and where to get them.

Went out to German this past weekend and had some mixed results. Ended up with bunch of decent sized sunnies and crappies, two sheephead, one marble eye, and one 5# nortern. We were fishing on the rocks SE of the landing. Fun action for the the little boss man. Only real action was with minnows. Tried worms, minnows, and bio-bait larva. The minnows even outfished the worms.

There are no rocks SE of the public landing? did you mean SW? The only rocks are in two places- 1) off the point off the island and 2) a hump about 200 yards from the island.
The lake has a ton of weeds on SE side- were you hooking weeds thinking it was rocks?
The sunfish typically will be off the church bar-SE side- in the weeds this time of year- 10 foot top- sound familiar?

Oh really.

Sea monster where is there a church bar on German? I guess my sense of direction has gotten all messed up.

The church bar is the bar straight out(200-250yds) from the public landing.I think the locals call it church cause there is a church a little farther east off the road the public landing is on. Most of the regulars at Beaver Dam call it this anyhow.
Beaver dam is on the NW side of lake. There is another bar on the SE side of the island- stretches 200 yds out- very weedy also.

Was out there yesterday. Walleyes are still possible- not great bite- but did manage a limitof 15 inchers-in 5 hours. pulled silver bladed crawler harness in the flats on the west side of island out from campground/resort on the island. edge of weeds. also caught many sunfish and sheephead.

Slab Slayer, You are right. SE of the landing. I know it well.
Take the church bar half way back to land there is a hump of rock around 4-5 feet deep.

Hey seamonster, what's with catching all the eye's when I'm not along for the ride!? The nerve! Sounds like you did better than our trip up north. Oh well I know where to go for the fish fry now!

right guys- those rocks do exist.
went out tonight- notta, nothing in 3 hours!
This crazy weather is causing goofy stuff to happen. 65 degrees yesterday and mid 80's today. Bite was ok yesterday and sucked today. go figure!

tried the "church" bar- there is very little weed growth.
Saw couple folks catching sunfish- one gentlemen was using a net to land 6 inchers. Hey- its a trophy in the eye of the beholder. Was on Red last week- 1st crappie- did not net and you guessed it- off it fell. so net anything you want!

Pikerliker- I thought you were working? Hmm- now I know my tax dollars support you reading this forum! go put em in a cage!!!!!

Hey seamonster, even us puplic servants (slaves) get a break here and there! Don't give me that wasting tax dollars routine! And they are already in a cage! You just need to use the net next time on those big crappies!

My son got paid back for a good deed he did several years ago. He found a couple of expensive items at a boat ramp and called me asking what he should do.   I told him to bring them home because I was afraid if someone else found them, they might keep them. It was winter and nobody was around. This was when Facebook wasn't really popular yet, I was on several sites like this. First thing we did was make a big sign and posted it at the boat launch, then I posted it on all the forums I was on. Long story short, we never found the owner, but we sure tried. I know to this day, if either one of us found something, we'd do our best to get it back to the rightful owner.

Yes, for sure.     A few years back, and unbeknownst to me, a piece of trim came off my sled while traveling over the lake.  A fellow sledder and complete stranger found the piece and followed my tracks all the way back to my cabin to return the lost item.  Couldn't thank him enough.  His kindness will never be forgotten and is something to which I aspire.

We got the auger back! The person who found it didn't want me to mention his name, we can't thank him enough! Still good, honest people around. He called Spring Bay Resort and asked if they heard of anyone losing an auger and they sent him a screenshot of my post. So, thanks to Dayis and Steve at Spring Bay Resort for that! Thanks again everyone for getting the auger back to us!

Who’s been out? I got hit with the flu and am still recovering.

That's what they're going to do. I always read these posts and wondered how people could lose or forget stuff, well it happens!

Dang….  I know it’s your son, so kinda different, but I’d be expecting a replacement from those who lost it.  The group could each put in and wouldn’t hit one or another too bad.   But that’s just an old man’s thoughts….💭    Good luck.

So my son and buddies were out this morning fishing between Wakemup and H.O.L. Bays (probably between Metza's pt and Schmidt Island), so they had to cross the snowmobile trail to The Landing. Well,  MY Strikemaster 24 volt auger fell off the back of my sled.  They didn't realize it until they got back. If anyone found it, would be nice to get back...please and thank you. Good news is they had the battery in their pocket..... Dip $hits😡
