It may be legal but why someone would even try something like this is totally beyond me.

To be honest, it's the craziest and one of the most unsafe things I have heard of.

A good reason why the state or DNR has to add new laws for people who will try and do something this unsafe.

I have to laugh as at times someone will say something and another will say, people would not do that would they? A great example right here. Keep the darn gun unloaded to save your own net or someone else.

Well this is something I have never done nor plan to, but it seems to me it could be done safely. As long as your gun is held securly a slow controlled bide ride isn't that crazy. I don't know what most people are picturing (blasting away shooting riding no hands). It sounds safer than a couple guys shooting out of an unstable duck boat. No one thinks twice about guided horse back elk trips. I'm not a horse guy so I know I would feel safer on the bike. I've fell down way more times walking cattails, brush and heavy cover than I ever have riding a bike. Only you know how you will be riding your bike and the quality of trails you will be riding on, good luck. If we went by some peoples idea of crazy the ice would never get thick enough to ice fish, cars would never have exceded the speed of a good horse, much less horses ever tamed and rode. We have people driving their fishing boats at 70 mph, snowmobiles at well over 100 mph, atv's flying around at 70 mph, but this guy is the crazy one. Good luck Brad.

I also gotta back up Brad. This idea isn't very crazy at all and I don't' understand why some of you think this is so unsafe. A loaded gun minus a shell in the chamber coupled with a safety being on...comparing that to running stop signs is crazy. The biggest risk in my opinion is scuffing up the firearm in the result of a crash. Hell even a loaded gun with the safety off things would have to go just perfect in order for the gun to fire (NOT condoning THAT btw). Factor in 2 forms of safety and your odds are better at being struck by lightning, twice.

We've all taken a spill on foot in tough brush...that's what the safety is for.

I agree with the minority here....doesn't seem any worse than walking a marsh, thick crp field, or sitting in a tree stand with a loaded gun

I don't see a problem with it at all. Load that thing up and go for it. what I do see though is a problem with the law on deer hunting in this manor.
