Pounnder, Had one question for you on the burndown. Were you using Dfi/Optimax.oil?

You mean the liquid gold? Yes, I do use the very expensive oil that is formulated for the optimax - I believe it is a synthetic mix, I don't have a jug here at home to look at and verify though. Talking with a merc rep., he says that it's a good idea to pour in a unit of merc. quick clean every time you fill up - it will help keep the carbon deposits down. Do you know if there is a cheaper version of this? Seafoam maybe?

Pounnder , Was just talking with a guy that had a similar problem with the injector in his 150 opti. except without the burndown. One of his injectors took a dump at startup. I was talking to a friend of my dealers and the guy he talked to also said to throw the additive in your gas to prevent carbon buildup. He also said there was a service bulletin for those injectors , why i didn't get it is beyond me. That thing is going in when i get back from canada. An opti mechanic said it is important to keep using the liquid gold formula oil because it is designed specifically for the motor. It is **** expensive though. I didn't know there was anything out there but premium plus for the last two years and thats what i have been running . I'm going to make the switch just in case though. I'll ask the guy tonight if there is any alternative to that merc fuel additive and get back to you.

Well, I still don't have my baby back. New power head, new injectors- Turns out, I need a new oil pump too. #6 cylinder was not getting enough oil. Just a few drops while the others were getting plenty. Will keep you posted.
