I think I got ripped of by the guys at Northland fishing tackle because I haven't had a bite on the so called new sassy shad.

I like to hear if anyone else is using the new mimic minnow?

I've caught over fifty + walleyes (1 went 6.5lbs) on Mimic Minnows and sassy shads combined this year. Mimmic minnows have actually worked better, Maybe you aren't using them right. With mimmic minnows don't go any heavier than 1/16 oz jig, because then you can slow your retrieve and still keep it off the bottom. I also has much better action this way. Hope this helps!! Thanks for the tip on the light jig head and slow retreive. I'll try it this weekend and see if it works.

I have the mimic minnow head body combo's in my tackle box but I do not think that the heads I have go that small.

Are you using just a plain jig head ? If so doesn't the body twist?

Set the Drag, I am glad to hear you had some success on the mimmic minnows!!!
klbowe, I always uy the jigs separate from the bodies. I just use a plain jig and experiment with different colors even though sometimes it doesn't matter what the color is. The bodies usaully don't twist if I get the body on the jig with the hook in the middle of the back. I also try to not put the hook too close to the tail because the body may be scrunched on the jig too much resulting in faulty action, if the hook is too close to the tail the tail doesn't have enough action. Hopefully this advice will put more fish at the end of your line!!!!
