hawkeye-the incident at german i know about, haven't heard about fox lake. the man on german was driving back to the landing when his pedestal seat tore from the floor and threw him out. he either hit his head on the way out or while in the water got hit by the boat. was under water for around 45 mins before they found him. would still be here if he had his life jacket on. i've got a pretty good source on this since my dad was the scuba diver that found him in the lake. makes ya think about things a little more.

HI Hawkeye43, Yes it was a very sad thing. We were over at Beaver **** visiting some of our group that was staying there for the Fishing Tournament my husbands company puts on every year when this happen.

There was a great response from the area rescue teams.

It is very sad for the young man and his family.

How many of you wear your life jacket and what would prevent you from wearing one or when do choose not to.

I will wear one if I am fishing alone and have layers of clothes on. But in the summer time if I am alone and wearing clothes I can swim in I usually choose not to wear one at all. I am sure I should be wearing one alone or with someone. But...

They do no good on the floor or stowed under the floor and we all should be wearing one even if we can swim.

But how many of you do ???

I guess it is like a seatbelt unless you make it a habit to put it on everytime you are in the vehicle there will be times where you choose not to or forget.
