Just wanted to pass along some info. I fried my "2000" 150 Optimax a week ago and left it with LOTW Marine. They went to bat for me with Merc and are providing excellant service. I recommend them if you need any service. Thanks
Friday night the oil lights and alarms started going crazy. With the entire weekend
ahead and immediate attention required we
called Al saturday morning and he said "bring
it in". Box Car, I will be up this weekend - Hopefully merc sends out all of the stuff needed for Al to put motor back together - new powerhead and injectors. I feel naked with out my baby. We will have guests with us.

Pounnder , Did you ever find out what the cause of the meltdown was on your optimax? Was just curious , I too have a 2000 150...If that baby frys....hello 175 Yamaha!!

The 2000's have had problems with the fuel injectors - look at the tops of them and see what color they are. If the heads are black, it is the old / bad style. If they are green, they are the new style. The old style have had grounding problems. I think that was my problem - a bad injector which created "melt down" Merc is providing new injectors and a new power head. We think this was the problem - When all is fixed, I will let you know for sure. Check your injectors though and see if merc will replace.

Thanks for the info Pounnder , I'll be checking out those injectors when i get home tonight. A relative is a merc. dealer so maybe i can swing a deal if i need them replaced and merc won't do it. Let me know how you come out on the deal.

Just a follow up on my 150 optimax- Picked it up early October. Merc replaced the powerhead and fuel injesctors, I paid for labor and an oil pump. The powerhead they sent was bad and they sent out yet another one and another oil pump! All said and done - it cost me $850. Sounds bad, but it was out of warrenty and might have cost me a whole lot more if Merc hadn't stepped up to the plate(an inherent problem is maybe the reason?) The cause was a faulty oil pump not sending oil to one cylinder. The fault was on the back side which does not have an alarm on it. Motor works great now!! I was out a couple of times in October fishing the Gap (I saw you Curt)We did pretty good. See you all on the hard stuff.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now. Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight. Not sure where they went. Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did. But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far. Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens. It's just a waiting game now. Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well: https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/ Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast. Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more! Anyway, do you like fishing? Trolling's kind of fun! 🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭 Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN. Should be easy now. Have fun. Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
