A year ago, or more, someone posted a lengthy post on the where the best fishing on LOW is from December - April. Does anyone remember this? Trying to track it down. Looking for name of post or username of poster. <P>Thanks.

Seabass,<BR>That was a post by Fiskynut.(oops....fiskyknut)<BR>Great information !! Very informative !! I still have it printed out and in my folder of ice spots. <BR>Do a search for "things to do on the big pond" in the LOW forum and you should find it. <BR>Here it is...<BR><A HREF="http://fishingminnesota.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000227.html" TARGET=_blank>http://fishingminnesota.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000227.html</A><P>Twitter<P>[This message has been edited by Twitter (edited 07-29-2003).]<p>[This message has been edited by Twitter (edited 07-29-2003).]

Thanks Twitter, thanks fiskynut. Thinking about putting something together for next January.

I know the feeling.<BR>We've already scheduled our first trip for 12/18 - 12/21 to hit early ice in Zipple Bay, and than down to URL for the evening crappie bite if they're cooperating this year. <BR>We made the trip on the same weekend last year, but the crappies didn't turn on on Red (or no-one put in the time to find them yet)<BR>until mid January.....but the early ice on LOW is the best walleye action I've ever had. I think 2 of us caught over 100 walleyes / saugers in a 8 hour period grin.gif

Seabass and Twitter,<BR>Yepper that early ice bite is indeed some great fishing. I even got a couple of whoppers during that first and second week of December! Last year was great with the early freezeup. Week and a half or so before christmas the mass of small fish moved in and 50 to 100 fish days were kinda the norm! Bring lots of minnows when you go out at that timeframe or you'll be heading in for more! I'm planning on having 2 more huts on the pond for a total of 4 availiable this winter, and they will be over fish!<P>Do you know that you guys can search topics on the LOTW forum all the way back to the early days of FM.com by hilighting the "show all topics" box on the main LOTW page? I think it defaults to 60 days back. By doing this you can search for info and reports from certain times of year from years prior.<P>Winter is coming but the fishing is great right now pulling lures in deep water or baitfishing on the reefs, and oh man that fall jigging bite coming up is most fun and productive too, my favorite time of year. Plenty of fish to be caught before freeze-up!<P>Regards....Fisky

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
