Brad K.
The weather has made for a tough bite for
the last week. It is supposed to get pretty
nice this week and stay that way into the
weekend.
June on LOW is a Fishfest of
fast biting fish of all sizes. While that
hasnt happened yet, it is certainly due.
It isnt real bad fishing, but I just hasnt
been real good for the last week or so.
Im thinking fishing will be great. Where
are you staying? What size boat do you have?
How familiar with the lake are you.? If you
answer these questions maybe we can get you
a good report before you leave.
The FishingMinnesota get together is this
Saturday near the resorts along the Rainey
River, many of us (I hope) will be fishing
several areas of the lake. We are doing
lunch at the shore lunch area at Zipple Bay
State Park and a fish fry Saturday night.
Fathers and Sons are invited.

Good Luck
------------------
Curt Quesnell
NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

I am also coming to LOW this weekend with my brother. Any ideas that will make our two days in God's country more successful are greatly appreciated.

Fisky,
Somehow I think you are managing to find your fare share of fish right now. Actually, it's no big secret- despite being early June the rocks seem to be the place to be. Weird- I don't remember rocks happening so early, but that seems to be the case this year. The exact rocks I'm talking about are a bit more of a secret, but from what I hear, do some rock hopping and you'll find fish.
Fisky, if you want more details, shoot me an e-mail.
Lastly, if the Walleye God is who I think he is- I've never heard of a person more inappropriately named!!!
Scoot
[This message has been edited by Scoot (edited 06-10-2003).]

General Lee,
You and your brother are also invited to
join the group Saturday. Read the posts
on the LOW get together. We will find the
fish.
Fisky, since you are fishing you must have
a boat handy now.....I will hope to finally
meet you?????????????????????I would have
invited you in my boat but it is full now.
We need to pick a channel for radios to tune
too. I think we will do that Friday night
at Kazs place.
Thanks all
------------------
Curt Quesnell
NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

Whoops, somehow managed to delete my whole other post. Too much information anyways! No chance of me getting one of them big boats for fun fishing on a weekend Curt. I refuse to put my leaky/flexy little C-liner on the pond. I have a friend doing PWT at Pepin till Friday and I'm sposed to meet up with him to prefish Devils lake before next weeks RCL tourney. Most likely I'll be peeling west out of here on Saturday sometime, unless his plans change. Iffin he ain't gonna make it till Sunday I'll try and make it to the gathering and maybe rent a boat from Z-bay if they have any availiable. I left my good raingear at the shack up there so I'll be up there fetching it on friday nite probably, maybe hunt you down then.
Curt, are you gonna be up for the Streiff's tourney again this year? July 12. I'll be there for sure. If all works out I should be sportin a new used '92 22' Pursuit CC by then.
Fisky

Ya, 120.00 sux. I have Access Broadband, they just raised their rate from 50.00 to 75.00. I'm lucky to get 3 to 5 mbts up or down, sometimes I'll get better. In fairness to them, they have been great trying to respond to my needs, but just can't improve my service. They said that they doubt I'll ever be able to stream a Wild game. I just purchased a new streaming box and it buffers none stop. With the new streaming box and the referral discount, I'll be able to cancel Sling, so, I'll save about 10.00 on my monthly bill. That's what I told my wife 😀 it's true...

That's a better price than when I bought a few years ago. I pulled the giant box across the ice on an old Radio Flyer sled late winter. Good luck. You'll enjoy Starlink, except for paying the bill. Mine was originally $100/mo, then $110/mo, then they said I was in a low usage area so they dropped my bill to $90/mo for the last two years. I just got a letter a month or so ago saying that we are now in a "high usage" area so they raised it to $120/mo.

I did the app thing. The best place is the middle of my yard and that's not going to happen. I have a tripod stand and a "J" type stand. I've also looked at trimming some trees for a better view of the sky. Once I get it, I'll have to try different areas. Maybe I'll have to hire a guy to climb my tree and install it- I've seen YouTube videos on that. Middle of my roof looks to be somewhat clear, but I don't like to put holes in the shingles. Plus, it's a 12/12 pitch and I don't have Velcro shoes. If anyone is looking to buy Starlink, it's on sale till 4/30 at $159.00. If you do buy it, I can give to a referral code and we'll both get a free month.

With the current conditions and weather forecast I would still stick to Sunday, May 4th. I almost guarantee Vermilion will be ice-free by the opener on May 10th. Very likely someone on the list will have the correct date.

Black Bay began opening yesterday afternoon. I could see ice moving around in the middle.

I've got it too. It works great if you can get a clear view of the sky, works decent if there are blockages. I had to take down two trees and still have branches that reach out and interrupt. Some people have their dish mounted on shore which probably helps a lot. You can download the Starlink app and then walk around your property. It will assess any spot to see if you'll get enough coverage.

I've seen them at the Cub in Minnetonka and just a few weeks ago, the Cub in Chanhassen. The little smelt, smaller than sardines.
