I'm taking a couple of fishing into Canada this summer. I guess both lakes I'm going to are not only good Walleye lakes, but Northern lakes too.
I was going through my tackle box the other day and noticed I could stand to replenish my spoon and sitck bait supply.
Question for any of you guys that fish a lot of pike on LOW or Canada: If you had one lure to take with you pike fishing, what would it be?

Thanks Old Guide,
I have heard from others that the 5 o' diamons was a good spoon.
Any ideas on where to pick a couple up around the Twin Cities area or better yet, online?
I have used Red Eyes before and agree they are pretty good too.
Anybody else have any suggestions on hot spoons or baits?

Scenic Tackle has 22 different spoon patterns
including the five of diamonds and hammered gold (brass) with orange
spoons. They are great for pike and muskie.

------------------
Mille Lacs Guide Service
651-271-5459
www.millelacsguideservice.com

The old Red and White spoons and a hammered silver, and hammered gold and orange. work real well the one time i was up there.

I really like those gigantic Frenzy crankbaits for deep water humps and rockpiles and walleys hit them on occasion too.

Chartreuse colored shad raps.
Only problem is they usually bust out the tail section... but they are deadly.
I've pretty much quit with that color for walleyes, because the northerns destroy too many.

I agree with the hammered gold and orange daredevil type spoons. Also, a number 5 Mepps black bucktail spinner consistantly brings in the big ones. Polar Bear

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust. Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports. Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago. A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out. 60s to even 70s next weekend. It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape. A friend advised me to try this. We'll see if it works later. I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
