I see no way the pack will finish higher than the Vikes. I really believe the Queens will have a good season and thats only if they have Farve. Without him, they will be a team with no QB.

With no QB last year we still won the division, of course to most people that isn't good enough, for me it's good enough to make the season worth while.

The Vikes D is aging, They are probably on a platuea. The Pack is on the rise, Detroit may actually finish ahead of "da bears" this year.

1.Packers

2.Vikes

3.Lions

4.Bears

No one will do better than 12-4 regardless.

Lions ahead of the Bears?? Funniest thing I have heard in awhile-

1.Vikes

2.Bears

3.Packers

4.Lions

Winning the division is a pretty good consolation prize for failing in the playoffs. I didn't even have that consolation prize to fall back on last year. frown

I could seriously see the Pack winning the division this isn't baseball. It's the NFL and parity is here to stay, just about every team has a chance other than a select few. We see surprises every year now and with the salary cap the NFL is the best game in town.

I'd be careful about saying the Pack, Bears or even the Lions can't finish ahead of the Vikings this year guys.

Injuries, Suspensions, Luck play a huge part and can turn a season around in a split 2nd!

What do we do if Adrian Peterson goes down and the Williams wall is gone for 4 weeks?

And more importantly and what I think will be our downfall is the very very suspect offensive line we have which is KEY to any teams success.

Go Favre!

Well said PierB! wink

With Favre in purple, they definitely have the best chance of winning the division and advancing in the playoffs. Without him...who knows? It looks like GB, Chicago and Detroit have QB's for the future. The future is now for Favre and the Vikings.

After spending all the money they have on free agents the last couple of years just winning the division is not good enough. I think they have to get in the NFC champ. game. If they don't then they need to take a close look at where they are and who is leading them. How far would just winning the division talk fly in Steeler or New England country.

I'll blame Tjack and the coaching for last years playoff loss. And that dam Mcnabb and Westbrook!!!

You're right on that one Leechbait.....McNabb and Westbrook definately had something to do with that outcome..

vikes are the best team in a weak division

But they have some potential to do damage in the play-offs. Look what they did to the Cards, who went on to the Super Bowl, on their turf. They destroyed them.

WOW!! Nice defeatist attitude! I would expect no less from a Vikings fan! ROFLMAO!!!! OMG that's the funniest thing I've read in a while in this thread. Bahahaha! That's the problem with YOU Viking fans....settling for mediocrity year after year....and guess what? That's what you'll get!

Freakin' sad is what it is. Horrible....

Wow, what's this? Another realist on our hands? Come on in, the inn is NOT full....besides, the loony bin on Delusional Street is booked waaaay past capacity.

You know im not sure anyone is happy that we got to the playoffs and lost. But it is something to work with for this year. Just because a few people look at things a little differently than yourself LMT, does that make them wrong or even shall i say delusional? It takes some cojones to pick apart others statements about their team when someone won't even defend or address what team they root for.

If you don't name your team, you don't HAVE a team. No points for picking apart the action while trembling in the corner bathroom stall. gringrin

No.

It's just a joke. No need to invent things that aren't there. The corner stall is the most spacious and private one in most public bathrooms. Just the place someone might go when they want their tears to go unnoticed. gringrin

Was Limtout addressing this situation AGAIN???

Or maybe it was just those pesky deer flies again!!!

For real lmit! I'm happy winning the division, can't expect my team(which is my team every year) to make the superbowl year after year. Heck YOU don't even know who you are routing for yet!

Say what you want about the Vikes, but at least I have some allegience!

This IS Lmitout's season; pestering others on their hope/enthusiam for the upcoming season. Me thinks he was one who piled all his Viking gear/merchandise, including the purple pajamas, on the driveway and burnt them after the '98 playoff loss; the aftershocks can still be felt in his posts wink.

Is the Vikings' front office selling "hope" already? I thought it was only for single games (not including the Bears and Packers' games) unless you wanted tickets for season "hope".

If I had burned my gear in '98 at least I was one of few that came to the conclusion that going forward was a waste of time and that it was time to end it then instead of relying on "hope" every year. How far has that got you in the last ten years?

And you are guilty of both my friend. Myself, well I'll call my self crazy, but at least I'll admit who I'm rooting for and not piggy back all the crazy cheeseheads around here.

Seems to me the Vikings have won just as many superbowls as the packers in the last 10 years.

Leechbait, you are on fire this morning!

Delusion....A false belief or opinion labored under the delusion that success was at hand...A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness. crazy

Quote:
ESPN's Ed Werder reports that free agent Brett Favre is now "conflicted" about whether he truly wants to return to the NFL.

Werder says Favre got calls from Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson, and Adrian Peterson saying they're sure they'd make the Super Bowl with him at QB. If not for the players' efforts, Favre "might have already decided against playing." Money is reportedly no issue, as the sides have a one-year, $10 million agreement in place, but Favre remains uncertain he can make it through a full season. He's never missed a game in his life to this point.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
