Once again, please realize that your team NOW is no good. Im sure you would love your old teams to play now instead of the one you have. But in reality, you still have a 6-10 team.

They're not my team, but I believe they're all 0-0 right now.

Besides, didn't you say this in a earlier post:

We aren't playing those teams this year.

You are correct. We are all 0-0 and who knows how it is going to turn out this year(vikings obviously trounce the pack both games!!), but the banter is already fun! No matter who posts what about the others team, bottom line is, we are all going to pull for our teams to the fullest. If you love the pack they are your obvious pick for Superbowl. And if you love the Vikes you KNOW they are going to the Superbowl!! wink

He is a great Qb but I think that the team chemistry will be real messed up for a while. Could have the same comments being made here that were made in New York at the end of last year. Should be a fun year watching all you cheese nuts and purple queens going back and forth. Then the lions will sneak up and run away with the divison. laugh

Don't let Limit beat you down, he has no allegience and therefore no credibility. He likes the Steelers this year, and who ever wins the superbowl this season, he'll like next year!

I think you mean I have no targetability, or in other words, you don't know what my favorite team is so it's hard to target me with "yeah but's" and try to run my team down in typical Vikings Fan fashion as is done with every other team since Viking Fan cannot defend the home squad with valid arguments of their own.

It just burns you up that you don't know my team and I love it because all you can do is spin in circles and can't fire off a bunch of worthless statistics or "Your Team Sucks" rhetoric since you don't know what "my team" is. smile

I just calls it likes I sees it. Tough job being a realist, eh?

???

you've been beating down the vikings and using the packers as your skape goat, you have no allegience and if I were you I'd be emabarrassed posting about the vikings vs packers rivalry if I was ashamed of my own team and couldn't bring them into the argument.

I kind of have to agree with leech. At least we push our team, the vikings, because, well they are our team. Typical vikings fan banter? What is that? Proclaiming our team is the best? Saying we think the vikes will trounce the packers? Standing behind our team and being proud to be vikings fans? At least we admit whom we follow.....Are you a closet lions fan LMIT?

its become very apparent in the last year or so that he's just jealous. realist, yeah right. A realist can see that the Vikings are the team to beat in the North. Packers feature a dreadful defense, and a good quarterback (for 3 quarters) and an average running back. The bears have no offensive line, an aged defense and no receivers. they have a good young RB and Cutler but not much else. Vikes have the best D in the division, the best running back, an adequate group of receivers and potentiall a fully healed Favre (who was very good before the injury last year)

The very end of July for Farve to sign. Thats what the people on ESPN sports believe.

The Vikes D is aging, They are probably on a platuea. The Pack is on the rise, Detroit may actually finish ahead of "da bears" this year.

1.Packers

2.Vikes

3.Lions

4.Bears

No one will do better than 12-4 regardless.

I'm going to go a bit off topic here.....

Of course I always want my team to go all the way. But in the spirit of my passion for "good" football, I sure hope more teams that are not part of the "usual suspects" make it (or go farther) in the playoffs. I'm so sick of the Patriots, Steelers, Giants, Colts, etc. Let's see some fresh blood in there. How great was it to see the Cards last year. They certainly choked at the end of regular season but what a great playoff run. Fun to watch. I'm kinda hoping the Texans make a good run this year. Hope the Falcons are back too. What a great story Matt Ryan is. Hope he can keep it going.

I'm pumped for some football....game on!!

The Vikes D is aging? Phat Pat and Winfield are the only two who are anywhere near old and neither has slowed down yet.

Packers winning the division is a pipe dream. Crack pipe that is!

I see no way the pack will finish higher than the Vikes. I really believe the Queens will have a good season and thats only if they have Farve. Without him, they will be a team with no QB.

The Vikings really need a smart QB running the offense. Our coaching is terrible, so if we don't have a game manager behind center the team will be the same as last year.

I could seriously see the Pack winning the division this isn't baseball. It's the NFL and parity is here to stay, just about every team has a chance other than a select few. We see surprises every year now and with the salary cap the NFL is the best game in town.

I'd be careful about saying the Pack, Bears or even the Lions can't finish ahead of the Vikings this year guys.

Injuries, Suspensions, Luck play a huge part and can turn a season around in a split 2nd!

What do we do if Adrian Peterson goes down and the Williams wall is gone for 4 weeks?

And more importantly and what I think will be our downfall is the very very suspect offensive line we have which is KEY to any teams success.

Go Favre!

chester taylor would fill in fine for a few games, but if AP goes down for the year, we are in trouble even with favre, I also agree that the line is a question mark, but the lions won't be good for a couple more years imo

I think on paper this year the Vikes stand the best "chance" at the division, but every year it is enyone's to win. You never know when a team is going to sprout up and run away with it.

On LMIT's closet allegiance: Are you SURE? Are you REALLY sure? How many Lions fans want their allegiance broadcast in front of a couple hundred thousand people? gringrin

I'm with you on that one.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?
    • LakeofthewoodsMN
On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
