OH my

check this out

the more he plays the better he gets!

Cuddy= 111 games 429 AB 58 RBI

Delmon= 76 games 268 AB 40 RBI

DELMON HAS MORE RBI PER AT BAT THAN CUDDY!

what makes it even more remarkable is what the OBP is of people that bat before these guys

He still makes me cringe when someone hits the ball to him

Why because he doesnt have one of the worst fielding percentages like Cuddles?

Delmon 5 bombs in his last 10 games. Wish he had played more.....

Hes playing everyday now. How much more is there? There is no comparing these guys, I would rather have Cuddyer on my team anyday.

I'm surprised that delmon is only that few rbi's behind cuddy given that cuddy's had a pretty decent season for extra base hits. maybe they need to move cuddy to batting 1st in the lineup as he really is a good batter when nobody is on base but his numbers drop considerably once a baserunner is on. given the weakness of the bottom of the lineup, he'd get a lot of opportunities to bat with bases empty.

We just need to convince Delmon that it's late July when the season starts. He has always played well the last 60 days of the season. 4 hits, way to go!

That is usually because someone has been hurt and he gets consistent starts in a row. Just like the last time he got hot, earlier this season when he got more playing time.

Delmon's contract info:

2009: Near Minimum, 2010-12: Arb. Eligible, 2013: Free Agent

This guy should be a .280-300 hitter with 20 HR's someday. I think he may yet get there, he's only 23. To get there he needs a starting role. Can't sit Span, and it would be silly to sit Cuddy with his power and $8 mil salary. So that either leaves sitting Gomez, trading Cuddy, or trading Young. Tough call!

He's going to be a very good DH somewhere down the road. I guess you could try and hide him in right field but I just don't see it as an option at this point. Kubels stellar play particularly against left handed pitching has really hurt Delmons chances to get more playing time.

It's not Gardy's fault he can't be trusted in the outfield. For instance the routine catch he made the other night that almost got over his head and would have cost us the game.

Thats was a huge hit for him and the Twins hopefully we can feed off that and play some good baseball down the stretch!

Some days, I can appreciate Gomez's defense, but other games he can screw up routine plays all too easily. Given his terrible average, he'd be the first outfielder that I'd let go of...

I've really come around on Kub's over the last two years. I think we've got our future DH now, assuming he stays healthy. Besides, he's already the .300 20 HR guy that Delmon could be. If Kubel could just hit right handers, he'd be one of the elite DH's in the league.

That being said, we're still where we were with Young.

Delmon's way too young to give up on yet, if only we could train him to not run like a girl. wink

What is it with that stutter step run of his?

It almost seems like he has a potato chip stuck in his backside and doesn't want it to break.

About what I expected Sled, it's only 11 running steps for Cuddy and what, about 29 for Delmon? smile

does a summersault or a limp count as a step?

Hmmmmm, I don't know about a limp....... but a summersault is considered traveling in basketball, so maybe it's three steps? laugh

      With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

      On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

      Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

      Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
