Will all ELS places sell them??

I printed out a list of Douglas County ELS loacations and did not realize half of them sold licenses.

So will most know how to do this? as I assume it is not as common as just selling a fishing licenses??

Has anyone had luck buying a surplus license online? Seems like it may be a better option than standing in line at an ELS station.

I haven't done it to know how far into the process you can get but if you do/can choose to go that route, be sure to have everything entered and ready to hit the enter button at the stroke of 5 if you can.

I went to a Holiday gas station in Edina a few years ago. I had no line and I got a surplus license.

Yeah, if you try to do it on-line make sure you do a test run with your data first to make sure you are on file. I had troubles until I realized the I needed to type everything in in capital letters.

Secondly, don't apply for the same area I am;)

Just completed mine online. Only took a couple minutes and I got my tag!

Does anybody have the link that tells you how many Tags are left for a particular zone?

I'm hoping for miracle for a friend who did not enter the lottery. I know I can call and find out but I thought there was link that was updated as we go through the process.

Thanks Pier!

Sorry Pier, it's probably too late but, after you go through all the entering of your personal info you get the option of which zone you are interested in. It then shows which time periods still have permits left over.

There will be an updated list for those who didn't apply through the lottery in a week or so. Just keep checking in on the DNR site. Last year there was still several liscenses left over if your were not picky as to were or when you hunted.

Good Luck!

What have I done? Originally was going to hunt Turkeys with the Recurve during the Archery only season, was able to get a surplus tag on-line so now I will probably hunt them with a shotgun. Now I need to buy a shotgun!!!

Also the campgrounds I stay at is booked on the weekend I will be hunting. Guess I didn't plan this out too well. Looks like I'll be sleeping in the truck? But I'll be Turkey hunting so that's all that matters.

Not a bad thing, just that money will be tight in the next month or two since I have a new Longbow on the way as well. I may just borrow a shotgun from a friend instead.

You can still use your bow in any season/area for which you have a tag. Think I'll try to zip one this year myself. Seeing strutters driving but haven't heard any gobbling. Looks like winter flocks are still together.

...at least when dogsled/lake trout season ends, turkeys start gobbling!

I may end up carrying both my Recurve and a shotgun. Would love to get a Turkey with the Recurve, but it's a tough chore, particularly during the last season. Figured I'd have a better chance at those spooky Whitewater Turks with a shotgun this time around. At least now I have the option of taking one with either a Bow or Shotgun.

NO you do not lose any preference points for future lottery drawings.

True. I believe you only lose your preference points if you're drawn in the lottery.

Heading up to LV a week from today with the kids. Any advice for us? Staying on the West side but open to traveling if the weather permits.   The way the last few weeks have gone, might stay for good!!!

Do have Wi-Fi in your house. Your going to need that to work with any of the cameras that send a signal and video to your phone.  Hardwire is the best but battery power workers well for about two months then you have to pull them and recharge them.  It is nice to sit on a beach in Key West and keep an eye on your house when gone! 👌

With all the craziness in the world I’m looking at getting an outdoor security camera setup for my home. Anyone have ideas on what works well without a huge cost  and easy to do . Or is it better to go with a company to set it up.  We have recently had copper thefts in the area at farmers fields and bin sites and I know it will only gat worse as these things always do. I probably want something that hooks up to my phone as well and wondering if there is a good one with either battery life or if wired is better. Any thoughts are welcome.

Aren't they the ones that ran into problems about illegal bait? Anyone know how that turned out?

You launch on Moose Lake to get to the motorized portage. It's called Prairie portage. To get to the portage you put in at Moose Lake. From Moose you go into Newfound Lake. From Newfound you go into Sucker Lake. On Sucker is where Prairie portage is. There is a dock on the American side and on the Canadian side there is big sign welcoming you to Canada. Latourell's Resort runs the portage and the cost for the portage is $40 for a round trip.

Will that blond haired kid have that cool little orange boat in the show this weekend? Saw him driving around by Muskego Point a few times this summer.

      Hey  stranger!!👌

Nope, there are parts of Basswood that allow motors.   Entry is from Fall Lake, and there is (I think) a motorized portage.   It is really popular in the spring...
