There has been talk of a FM get-together<BR>weekend on LOW for some time. Lets put it<BR>together.<P>The weekend of June 14th might be a good<BR>choice. Fishing should be good without<BR>running all over the lake. We have an invite<BR>from Kaz to have a cookout at his house<BR>Saturday night. The Zipple Bay guides shore<BR>lunch area is at our disposal for a midday<BR>break.<P>Very tentative schedule..<P>Friday night social (possibly at Schusters)<P>Saturday morning meeting at the Wheelers Point Landing. To explain contests and <BR>schedule for the day, collect for big fish<BR>pots (the important stuff)<P>Shore lunch at the Z-Bay park (maybe Polish<BR>and dogs for convenience sake or maybe the <BR>whole fish fry thing.<P>Awards and cookout (my choice for fish fry)<BR>at Kaz's place in the evening. (located near<BR>RiverBend Resort)<P>Sunday??????????????<P>Fishing could be anywhere you wanted to go<BR>but mostly the Gaps and Zipple Bay areas<BR>I suppose.<P>If June 14th is a bust, we will shoot for<BR>August something and deep water and reef fishing.<P>Let's see a show of hands here. We can work<BR>out details along the way.<P>Lodging may be tough to get, the LOW Chamber<BR>can be a help.<P>Please include your ability to bring a boat<BR>and if you have room for company in your<BR>boat (you know, someone to help pay for gas).<P>Check your schedules and indicate if the <BR>weekend of June 14th fits. Post Yea or Nay<P>------------------<BR>Curt Quesnell<BR>NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

Curt,<P>I like to see someone that takes initiative! I will take a look at the calender and go from there. I might be up at the angle that weekend, so it would be fun to head south for the day. If that's the case, I'll keep you posted on room availability for our boat. <P>------------------<BR>Hemlock<BR>"Throw'm back"

Do you think a 16ft lund rebel would be big enough?

I will be up that weekend and can go out Saturday but not Sunday(Fathers Day). I have 18' pro-V, can take 2 with me.

Hopefully I'll be around.

It might be a possibility that a guy could place names with faces that weekend! I have a place up there, and will be up that weekend.<P>------------------<BR>let some go !!

Spin Dry<P> 16 foot Rebel is fine for the type of<BR>fishing we will do in June.<P><P>------------------<BR>Curt Quesnell<BR>NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

Warrior,<P>Is your place closer to Sioux Narrows or the "other" side? Let me know, maybe we could travel together from SN, if that's where you are going to be.<P>------------------<BR>Hemlock<BR>"Throw'm back"

Hemlock,<BR> I have a place on Wheelers, At Ballards year round. Your from the North side?

Worrior: We must be neighbors up there. I'm the beige house with the Flag in the window and the tower behind the porch, across from the taxidermy. 3343 Burr oak. If I'm there sometime, white Denali, stop in. Always a cold one in the fridge...Kaz<P>------------------<BR>KAZ

Ya, 120.00 sux. I have Access Broadband, they just raised their rate from 50.00 to 75.00. I'm lucky to get 3 to 5 mbts up or down, sometimes I'll get better. In fairness to them, they have been great trying to respond to my needs, but just can't improve my service. They said that they doubt I'll ever be able to stream a Wild game. I just purchased a new streaming box and it buffers none stop. With the new streaming box and the referral discount, I'll be able to cancel Sling, so, I'll save about 10.00 on my monthly bill. That's what I told my wife 😀 it's true...

That's a better price than when I bought a few years ago. I pulled the giant box across the ice on an old Radio Flyer sled late winter.   Good luck. You'll enjoy Starlink, except for paying the bill. Mine was originally $100/mo, then $110/mo, then they said I was in a low usage area so they dropped my bill to $90/mo for the last two years. I just got a letter a month or so ago saying that we are now in a "high usage" area so they raised it to $120/mo.

I did the app thing. The best place is the middle of my yard and that's not going to happen. I have a tripod stand and a "J" type stand. I've also looked at trimming some trees for a better view of the sky. Once I get it, I'll have to try different areas. Maybe I'll have to hire a guy to climb my tree and install it- I've seen YouTube videos on that. Middle of my roof looks to be somewhat clear, but I don't like to put holes in the shingles. Plus, it's a 12/12 pitch and I don't have Velcro shoes. If anyone is looking to buy Starlink, it's on sale till 4/30 at $159.00. If you do buy it, I can give to a referral code and we'll both get a free month.

With the current conditions and weather forecast I would still stick to Sunday, May 4th.  I almost guarantee Vermilion will be ice-free by the opener on May 10th.  Very likely someone on the list will have the correct date.

Black Bay began opening yesterday afternoon. I could see ice moving around in the middle.

I've got it too. It works great if you can get a clear view of the sky, works decent if there are blockages. I had to take down two trees and still have branches that reach out and interrupt.   Some people have their dish mounted on shore which probably helps a lot. You can download the Starlink app and then walk around your property. It will assess any spot to see if you'll get enough coverage.

I've seen them at the Cub in Minnetonka and just a few weeks ago, the Cub in Chanhassen. The little smelt, smaller than sardines.
