i just wish they wouldn't have the red and green colors together. match the breezers to what ever color home sweater they have. red on red, or green on green. their away white sweater will go with either color of breezers. if i had to vote for a home color, i would go with green. of course i probably wouldn't even bring this up if they were a legitimate stanley cup contender.

Well a win last night helps us, but the Blues win last night hurts us much worse. We need to win out as usual...but now we need everyone else to lose out. Well, I'm looking forward to next season and the players are looking forward to an early golf season.

I don't want to throw the towel in, I was really looking foward to playoff hockey, its a blast at the xcel during the playoffs.

I think I am going to have to come to terms with it and realize its not going to happen this year

As Jim Carey would say at the end of Dumb and Dumber, "So you're telling me there's a chance?!?"

Any time a team claims they are mathimatically alive its never a good thing.

And I love the red sweaters!

I love the reds too, didn't at first but they grew on me...Big fan of my Red Koivu jersey. He is the man. Like Beninati said during the Wild/Wings game, "most underrated player in the NHL"

I would like to see them go to red breezers though. The red/green does look a little christmassy.

Black Breezers would look sweat, and I agree Koivu is the most underrated player in the NHL.

Heres the playoff hopes as i understood it:

Wild need to win out 2-0

Ducks 0-2

or

Blues 0-2 or 0-1-1 wild win by tie breaker

I was of the understanding that the Wild needed everyone above them to lose out since we lost the tie breakers...that's what they were saying on the 93 X morning show.

If St louis Loses one and OT Loss, and of course the wild win out, the wild will have more wins the St Louis, hence wining the tie breaker!

This is such a long shot but I am still holding out hope that they cn find a way into the playoffs. I don't care if it's a one and done series or not. Playoff hockey is so intense....I love it.

the wild knocked the preditors out. now we need st loius or aniheim to lose there games. I hope at least one of those teams lose tonight, so tomorrows wild game means something.

Wild are out of the playoffs...St.Louis won and Anaheim wins in a shootout over Dalls.

Anaheim wins in a shootout over Dalls.

If Modono's shootout miss would have been a inch lower, Dallas would have won.

He hit the cross bar and over the top. frown

Wild had a good season overall, it will be interesting to see what happens this off season with changes looming.

I went to that Friday night game, it was an awesome atmosphere. It heated up after that Tootoo guy took the cheap shot on Fritche. John Scott kept trying to get after him but never got a chance, the refs kept breaking it up before they got going. Could tell Tootoo loved the heat though he was egging us on. Then I think it was Zidlicky or Johnnson who took Tootoo out later in the 2nd period that was awesome.

My question: is there some sort of code or anything about when the fighting is allowed? To me seemed like, hey let Scott and Tootoo go at it but the refs never allowed it. Is it just the refs or are there times they will tell the guys not now? Know what I mean?

no kidding, everytime he was on the ice, Scott went out there and would make a push towards him, he would dump the puck and turn away to avoid him. Clutterbuck had him lined up, came off the bench straight across rink at him, he must have seen him coming passed the puck and Cal let off on the hit, but whoever that was for us definately got him back because it was away from the play and boareded him good

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
