The Wild at FULL STRENGTH... which I cannot even think if we have been all season... but the wild at FULL STRENGTH.. could make a game of it with any team in the league...

glad to have Gaborik back, but he is no replacement for Koivu or Burns...

Gabby has been good the last couple games. 4 point night, I'd take that. Hopefully they can keep it up!

Finally a break out game, looks like they are finally playing with a chip on their shoulder! Great game by Gabby, Glad to see him on the ice! I forgot what a true goal scorer looks like on this team

It was refreshing to see some offensive punch for once. Of course we were playing the AHL affiliate for the NY Islanders smile Gabby wasn't zipping around real fast, but he was always creating offense.

Tough road ahead. They absolutely must beat Edmonton. We all know how likely we are to beat Calgary in the Canadian Rockies.

yes, awesome game last night and physical. Great to see the offense get going but like the other guy said, their goals allowed per game or whatever that stat is was the worst in the league. Must win vs Edmonton.

Also, thanks for the clarifaction on the opposing team scoring on themselves dude

we need a new coach!

we have no offensive attack what so ever, 5 shots first period. the problem is he keeps changing the lines, so no one gets in sync, thats why all the bad passing. why can't he leave the lines the same, they will play much better, it takes time to gel.

skoula really messed up behind our goal, that cost the wild.

The Wild needs points and trails for the entire 3rd period. However, they only manage a TOTAL of 15 shots on goal for the game.

That is a joke! In a game with that much importance to them they should get 15 shots on goal for the last period.

What an ugly game last night the 1st period was just pathetic. What was it 20-5 in shots and at the end of the 3rd it was 40-15 Calgary. How hard is it to shoot the puck at the net??

I am going to Tuesday's game against Vancouver and I have a bad feeling about that game, 5-1 Vancouver.

What a game tonight. Alot better than the other night and they are a lil more aggressive. That and Skoula scored another goal! I think thats 2 in 3 games now. We need to start playing like this every game and then we may have a chance at the playoffs

They did play much better last night nice to see a much needed win. Its nice to see Gabby getting in the mix now and Skoula is looking a little better.

Gabby is playing very hot right now, 4 goals now since his return and a few assists. We need them to win a couple in a row now. Not very often this year have they been able to put 2 wins back to back or more. It always goes W L W L W L.

Hope they can string together a few wins here and other teams falter, but from what I've read and heard, going to be a hard stretch here to make it.

How about Solicky? However you spell it, that little dude protecting Backs was awesome last night

ya, thats the guy, got a kick out of him, he has a lot of spunk and getting in the faces of the opposing teams big guys taking shots at Backs. Need a win tonight. I'm not up on the standings but I think some of the losses to Dallas and Edmonton last night should help the wild right?

I think were still 3 points out of 8th so a win could pull us to within one if the right teams lose. I think dallas is pretty much out of it being 5 points behind the wild, i didnt think edm played last nite but if they did and lost, better for us.

Bring back this team next year except for 2 defenseman and we win the cup if we stay healthy.

That is the first good game that Zidlicky has had in a long time. He can shoot, but his defense leaves a lot to be desired. I can't count the number of times that he has turned the puck over that resulted in a goal against. Much worse than Skoula was last year.

Tough loss last night, but got a point of it still right? It was a good game to watch, except in the 2nd period with the finish of 1 PP and the other full PP, never got it together.

Yeah their PP last nite just looked horrible and i think that made the difference, they even had one in ot for a 4 on 3 and couldnt get it together. They did actually out shoot a team finally and held them to 0 shots in the third but just couldnt put it away.

I would love to go to the game tonight, I wonder if it would be possible to get cheap ones from a scalper? I've never bought them from anyone other than ticketmaster...anyone know if the good last minute deals are out there?

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
