Been fishing out of Zippel Bay this winter, thinkin about hauling the sleds up next weekend to make a run up to garden island. (weather permitting) Any reports from the area would be a great help! And any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

DOOM

Nice Warming Hut on the east side for snowmobiling. We fished by Little Oak Island around some reefs.( 1st weekend in Feb) Did Ok. lots of small sauger (9"-12" range), 3 eelpout, and a few keeper walleye. Our group was going to try on top of the reefs before sunset, and then the hurricane winds came out of nowhere. 3 people to take down my house, yukon fish trap. I will be out there again this weekend, but don't know where we are going to fish. I think we will try the same areas.

I was not at Garden Island this weekend but it sounded like thats where you needed to go to catch some fish.

Black trail is only good out about 12 miles then it gets a little rollee (groomer has been down)

We had little success over Pine Island in 34fow but it was still better than working!

Always a good time no matter what. Relaxed, got a good jag on and told alot of lies!

I was up at Garden last friday with 3 other guys just east of Starren shoals. We was in about 21-22 ft. Seemed the bite was best from 9-noon. we did okay but not great. lotsa small saugers. I even caught a nice eater walleye 10 feet down. so yes it does help to bring a Vex. It was nice ride from downtown Baudette cuz the night before the trail on the river was groomed. 78 mile round trip for me. The guys I met up there came from the Long Pt area. Caught most of my fish on a glow jig with a rattle. most of the time with the rod just sitting there. only got a few jigging. Hope to get up there again this weekend. Stop by if you see an Orange Crossfire with a portable. Good luck

Hey Guys, I'm wondering what the water temp on the St.Croix is. I Haven't herd anything, all I know is that Catfish become inactive after it drops below 60F. I want to know if they have already become inactive, you would think we would at least have until October.    One more inquire,  anyone one know about a nice carp lake north of the metro. Most people don't like fishing for common carp, but they are a great fall fish to catch when they Get 30+ plus pounds.

The frog bite will be soon when you see frogs moving hit the rum.

All right man I'll make sure to tell you how I do, I have also been looking at the sunrise river. The sunrise Looks like one of those rivers that all the local kids fished in the 80's, But then it got polluted and over fished. I'll Try the sunrise one of these days, I don't know what i'll catch,  Maybe it's like in the Simpsons with those Three eyed fish.    As for the rum river, I can't wait to fish that. I'll wait for a nice cold front when all those small mouth start to eat everything in site, They need the fat for winter. I'll make sure to tell you how it goes.
