Lowrance X111 problem

Lip RIPPER!

Question

When I turn the unit on, the screen lights up like it usually does, then goes dim, makes a series of quick beeps, and then shuts off. I have hooked a Global Map 6500 up to the same connections, a 532 and another X111 and they all work fine. Just trying to figure out what the problem might be before I have to send it in. I haven't tried resetting it yet as I took it out of the boat for the winter but that's going to be my next step. Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,

LR

I had the same thing happen to me. I hooked up my x-17 to the same connectors and it worked fine. I had a local lowrance dealer send it in, and they sent me a brand new 113hd. I think they had a lot of issues with that unit. Maybe you will get lucky and get a brand new unit.

Before you try doing a hard reset try downloading the software update from Lowrance

http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/

Hopefully that gets rid of it. When you do the hard reset you lose all of your waypoints and that sucks.

My buddy had a 111 where it immediatly after he did a hard reset, but after he shut it off and turned it on the second time, it would do exactly like you said. I updated it for him last year on musky opener and it worked just fine.

The tech lady I talked to said she had never heard of this before. I was wondering if she even knew what a sonar/GPS unit was. Thanks for the input.
