dont plan on driving out there. I was out twice last week. All I can say was it was sloooowww. It took a lot of searching to find fish, and when I did they didn't seem to want to bite.

I was tip-up fishing on Rice lake today. Things started out slow but got better as the day went on. The last thing you want to think about is driving a vehicle out from the landing at this point. I'm guessing it's shot for vehicle traffic for the rest of the season.

hehehe...yes, I don't think any vehicles are going to make it across that gaping hole of open water right in front of the boat landing in the middle of the road.

shogun,

Just to keep you updated about travel on Rice lake. Two guys in a Dodge Dakota drove out behind my two fishing partners yesterday around 10:00am. We were taking bets to see if they would make it off of the ice later that afternoon. We left before they did and I haven't heard any thing about thier travel off of the ice.

For the record we were on atv's and I'm not even sure how good of a plan that will be after a few of these warm days.

Ah yes Tom, there are some guys really pushing their luck out there. I was out today and there was a truck and suv that drove out, I saw them drive in later this afternoon, I wasn't close enough to see them get to the landing, but that's where they went because they disappeared behind the island. There is still open water, there was when I walked in, and they were driving literally right along the edge of it.

Hey Guys, I'm wondering what the water temp on the St.Croix is. I Haven't herd anything, all I know is that Catfish become inactive after it drops below 60F. I want to know if they have already become inactive, you would think we would at least have until October.    One more inquire,  anyone one know about a nice carp lake north of the metro. Most people don't like fishing for common carp, but they are a great fall fish to catch when they Get 30+ plus pounds.

The frog bite will be soon when you see frogs moving hit the rum.

All right man I'll make sure to tell you how I do, I have also been looking at the sunrise river. The sunrise Looks like one of those rivers that all the local kids fished in the 80's, But then it got polluted and over fished. I'll Try the sunrise one of these days, I don't know what i'll catch,  Maybe it's like in the Simpsons with those Three eyed fish.    As for the rum river, I can't wait to fish that. I'll wait for a nice cold front when all those small mouth start to eat everything in site, They need the fat for winter. I'll make sure to tell you how it goes.
