I will have to check that out next time the shiners dissappear. I like the Madison Lake shop and the Bobber shop. Gander and Scheels are OK but who wants to carry the bucket all the way through the retail store there? Poor planning IMO

If you want good bait and have a plan then go to the bobber shop for the quick stop, if you need local lake info the Madison lake store is full of easy going friendly employees that are always more than willing to shoot the [PoorWordUsage] for a while.

Team Otter

I stopped at Walt's this morning for the first time. Very impressed. Got the standard amount of bait and a pop for the road and Walt gave me a card for what will eventually be free minnows. I'll definitely be back.

I believe the hog hunting farm is called Ridge Hunting Preserve, it is east of Little Falls the phone number is 320-745-2337 I know people who have hunted up there in the past and had a good time. They said the hogs were running wild in a 20 or 40 acre fenced area but it is not usually easy to get one but there is a high success rate if you have the time to work the area. I am going to confirm the location/name and will probably hunt there this year. Russian Boar are supposed to be pretty tasty and there are meat processors near by to drop the hog off at.

I went out after the wind died down. Caught 23 with a mix of eyes and saugers.  12 to 15”   With no slots. Fished 12 to 27’.

This is off a Ranger with a PRO XS OPTI from opener that wouldn't run. Cost of repairs =$500!!

For Vermilion, the Lowrance lake insight data is identical to Lakemaster, 3 foot contours.

Maybe you should check the various sites that sell mapping stuff?   What is the Lowrance offering?   Is there a different Navionics choice?

You're correct trumy.  I just posted this on that page.  Thank you.

Hi everyone, I will be heading to Echo Lake, in the superior national Forest, the middle of June.  Never been there, but the small amount I found on this site says it's a good fishing lake.  Does anyone have past experience on this lake?  I'm targeting walleye mostly, but Pike and crappie are always on my menu.  Are there any lure colors that have worked well for you?  I'm mostly a live bait fisherman.  Any presentations that worked well?  Any advice will be greatly appreciated with this lake, and I will report back how it went/what worked.  Thank you everyone.

May want to post this in the BWCA, Duluth.... regional forum.  You may get more responses there as that's the area the lake is in.   Goid Luck!
